  1. Is it common for house buyers to request access to an empty for building work before completion (but after exchange of contracts)?
  2. But you think it's OK to insult overweight people judging by your other earlier posts. If you had seen a close friend nearly starve to death due to anorexia caused by stupid derogatory weight related comments you would realise how devastating these cheap remarks can be.
  3. Very well said. People who make derogatory comments about weight need to think about the implications. I have a friend who became anorexic after a lad at her school constantly kept calling her fat (she wasn't overweight, just naturally curvy and I'm not saying that to be kind). She recovered and became a normal weight but after becoming ill with meningitis she lost a lot weight (and nearly died ) When she came out of hospital someone that hadn't known she's been ill congratulated her on weight loss and said she looked great, like a model. You can guess the rest. It very easy to throw around insults or negative blaming comments about weight. This is an issue that runs deep in our culture and anyone stupid enough to even think these things should think very long and hard about the consequences of voicing them. If an weight related insult helps one overweight person to lose weight, it will drive 99 others to comfort eating/further weight gain/eating disorders. And remember weight is not a reliable indicator of health. The people with the unhealthiest lifestyles I know of are all skinny! Yet they smoke dope/tobacco heavily, drink heavily, live on junk food and do no exercise whatsover. Never judge a book by it's cover.
  4. For all the so called benefits of smoking pot, the people I've known that smoke it on a day to day basis seem to be a bunch of loser slobs that don't do anything apart from weed smoking other than eating mountains of junk foods, drinking too much booze and chain smoking cigs. They look like mucky, trampy chavs and live in squalid tips surrounded by all their pizza boxes and beer cans because they can't be arsed to put out their rubbish. Nice.
  5. I'm 34 and between 18-25 was NEVER once asked for ID. Between 25-30+ was asked occasionally, usually by middle aged ladies in supermarkets who are obviously are no good at judging ages and that think everyone under 30 looks like a teenager. But in the past year I've been asked about half a dozen times which is just ridiculous! So now I always carry my driving licence in my purse so I won't have to be embarassed in front of a queue people again when the shop assistant refuses to serve me even though I've been legally allowed to buy alcohol for 16 years:loopy: What I've noticed is that when this has happened I've been dressed in casual clothes and little make up. If I'm dressed up smartly there's no problem. Which probably explains why shops and pubs get caught out for serving underage drinkers! So the idea of having some kind of ID for buying alcohol that isn't a driving licence or passport that EVERYONE has to show seems more senisble to me.

  7. Quite right, there's no such thing as a BAD FOOD, only a BAD DIET. Unfortunately the media doesn't tell us this, only don't eat this, don't that, so of course there are lots of overweight people and people with eating disorders all obsessed with food and feeling gulity for eating anything other than salad:( Having said I can't imagine that a deep fried mars bar tastes very nice. Each to their own though.
  8. Well the gold coloured coating comes off quite easily and it looks darker underneath than if you scratch a real £1 coin. And they are a bit lighter in weight. But the giveaway is on the edge of the coin because the lettering looks fake and bodged, even though the head and tail sides of the coin are pretty convincing.
  9. Do most shops etc actually check for these? I don't think so. I must have had loads and not spotted them
  10. I've had a Special Delivery item go missing today!!
  11. Well, maybe not for Salmonella but shellfish is the worst culprit for food poisoning generally isn't it
  12. I think shellfish are the worst culprits for food poisoning aren't they? I've twice had food poisoning from shellfish - prawns and squid - can't touch it now without feeling sick:gag:
  13. The Huing Luing at Abbeydale Rd is an excellent Chinese, not too overpriced
  14. Bacon wheat crunchies are the best
  15. I remeber my mum saying to never eat from a dented tin because you could get botulism. I think botchulism is pretty rare this sounds more like another kind of food poisoning like salmonella maybe?
  16. A friend got a wig off ebay for about £20 that was pretty realistic. She actually got a lot a compliments and some people thought it looked better than her real hair although I thought it was bit too perfect and geometrical looking to be taken for real hair.
  17. I agree really. But it really depends on how much money is involved of course.
  18. I think the one I tried before was chamomile:gag: I don't think I've drunk anything that foul before. I tried blackcurrant which was OK but found it too acidic. Might give peppermint a try though cos I like mint
  19. A woman at work used to have this as a slimming aid. Didn't smell very nice from what I remember.
  20. I suspect you're right there..Not really sure about decaff tea either as I've tried decaff coffee and hated it, really bland, but I might give the decaff tea a shot. I've heard different things about caffeine in tea - some people seem to thinks it's got more caffeine than coffee but I've heard the opposite as well:confused:
  21. My auntie has one and apparently it's very good and yes you get what you pay for!
  22. Try the egg and grapefruit diet. You can lose weight really quickly on that. You eggs for most meals and eat 5-6 grapefruits, very low on carbs/sugar. No alcohol but you can drink black coffee or tea. The weight falls off so fast you won't believe it.
  23. I'm trying to cut back on caffeine but miss my tea? Do any herb teas actually taste OK? I tried them years ago and they were just vile. Or is decaff tea OK?
  24. Well I got the xmas cards/wrapping paper/decorations but am having problems finding a tree (artificial of course:hihi: ). Any half price trees still around anywhere?
