Any Sheffield United fans interested in this domain name?
hitchhiker replied to hitchhiker's topic in Computer & Tech Chat
I am planning on letting it expire - I thought I should give everyone here first refusal before it goes back onto the market -
I use Foxit Reader as my PDF viewer (and Bullzip as my PDF printer). Both are free: http://foxitsoftware.com/downloads/ http://www.bullzip.com/products/pdf/info.php

Can anyone recommend a very good Joomla developer to do some fiddly work on an old Joomla installation? Preferably in the Sheffield area Thanks

Great - thanks. I thought they were very unusual but apparently not -

hitchhiker replied to hitchhiker's topic in Computer & Tech Chat
Thanks Are they standard sizes? This one is from about 1965 so will be in imperial measurements. Do you know where they can be bought? -
Anyone know what you would call this screw? I need to know so I can try to find some more It's got a threaded hole in the end for a brass cover to screw into it - similar to the type you get on some bathroom mirrors Pic here

This has taken me ages! My favourite walk - the route
hitchhiker replied to hitchhiker's topic in General Discussions
Thanks for the feedback and I understand what you mean - but I was trying to, not only, give comprehensive instructions for a complicated walk but also communicate the feel of the area and the walk - for example, the leisurely pace and the wealth of flora and fauna - at the same time -

Many of the beaches around this area are deserted most of the year. even in the middle of summer you'll have them all to yourself all day! The exception is Orchard Bay - that ones quite popular! Steephill cove is fantastic for kids when the tide is out - plenty of rock pools, sandy beach and nice shallow water. There's a cafe there but the really nice thing is, the road is a long away meaning it's incredibly peaceful! Ventnor beach is obviously busier - with the added attraction of several pubs like the Spyglass Inn and the Millbay. My personal favourite, however, is the Met Bar. It's a bit pricey but you can't beat sitting in there for the afternoon with a couple of bottles of wine and plenty of Tapas nibbles! If you're after arcades, piers, pubs, tourist shops, coach parties, etc. the Sandown. Shanklin has a long sandy beach and esplanade with arcades, cafes and pubs on it. Shanklin Chine is lovely - you walk down from Shanklin village and come out at the far end of the beach. It's a huge, narrow gorge with a winding path following the stream and waterfalls. At the bottom there is a fantastic traditional thatched pub right on the beach. Food is great there too! -

Thanks I'm planning on putting more walks on when I can. There is a lovely walk to Chale via Niton and St Catherine's Oratory and there's a great pub at the end called the Wight Mouse -

That was you? Thanks for that! Solved a mystery for me! The top coastal path was swarming with those caterpillars! You'll definitely get extra points if you can remind me what that beach is called -

Social Networking for Small Businesses
hitchhiker replied to wordsbyjim's topic in Sheffield Business & Employment
I've just filled in your questionnaire. Under the prices section, I put £0. Just to explain a little further, I would expect a magazine of this nature to be free - funded by adverts or similar. -
I was down in the Isle of Wight last two weeks and the top coastal path was swarming with these caterpillars. I've tried Googling to find out what type it is but with no luck! Can anyone here help? Picture here Thanks

Car battery dead - can it be re-charged?
hitchhiker replied to hitchhiker's topic in Computer & Tech Chat
A few months. I know I should have unhooked it but it slipped my mind. I think there is a problem with the car draining charge. -
I thought it was 'alt + PRTSC' to capture the active window?
-
Just dusted off the old car in the garage, the battery seems to be dead. I can't seem to re-charge it using the battery charger so I assume it's completely out of charge. Does anyone know how to fix it? It's a relatively new battery. I heard you can put asprin in - is that right?
