It doesn’t matter does it really, special measures or no measures at all .. there not getting booted from the town hall regardless, Sheffield will keep the same old same old , scared to death of change You see the state of the city centre, the farce of them containers , the fact you’ve a council leader who’s FORCED to resign which tells you everything you need to know about the integrity of the Sheffield council And still, we vote them in , time after time and don’t come at me with no hung council carry on , we all know full well it’ll be labour controlled Sheffield gets what Sheffield deserves -

There’s little to no point is there You have to respect others opinions, but as was mentioned earlier … put a red rosette on a donkey and sheffielders are voting for it in there thousands -

Shipping Containers Coming To Fargate
S6_owl1986 replied to smithy266's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Spectacular is quite possibly a bit OTT But it’s a great development, really busy market and cracking food court I’ve been down a few times on an evening aswell , can’t fault the place to be honest , makes you want to visit a town centre, few nice little bars popping up aswell Free parking at weekends, they seem to have got it bang on -

The planning and execution of this project was nowt but embarrassing for the city, And last few days you see people now whinging that SCC got £0 from the levelling up fund hand out … how on earth is anyone surprised this council got rejected ?? And , before we listen to the claims of it all going down south to ‘Tory’ areas let’s have a look over the motorway and see how the notoriously Tory area Barnsley got on …. Oh yeah they bagged £10.2M which they’ll probably use wisely if you look at the recent glassworks development and take that as anything to go on -
Water/Gas Leak Stannington Declared A Major Incident
S6_owl1986 replied to dutch's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
If YW pay out, it’ll be to Cadent Id imagine be an investigation though, if burst water mains take out perfectly good gas mains this situation in S6 would happen on a far far more regular basis surely ? Did YW contractors bust the gas main while repairing ? There’ll be an investigation am sure Cadent are clearly doing a lot of fantastic work up there and all the heat is on YW because there asset visibly failed, but it would be interesting to know if Cadents asset was in good nick or not , I’ve seen and known many a water main pop in close proximity to Gas and not had all this carnage -

Obviously an extreme event this one but Happens regular am afraid in terms of utilites damaging each others assets , I’d imagine Cadent will pay out as there the gas supplier and it’s there asset at fault , and then they’ll claim third party damage off YW -

Afraid can’t help with the majority of your questions however, can tell you that sewer (drain) will be Yorkshire Waters at the point it becomes a shared asset, private gennel or not -
40mph limit starts at the first bend past the entrance to the park , from Malin Bridge up past the fire station to the park it's 30mph

wether you want to try and proove a minority of Liverpool fans were responsible or not nothing gets away from the fact the way South Yorkshire Police behaved on that day and subsequently after it was absolutely disgraceful bunch of corrupt liars

Rivelin Primary School parking
S6_owl1986 replied to S6_owl1986's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Will permit parking really solve the problem ? Or just move the chaos to another near by road ? End of the day that school has been there a lot of years , i attended there myself and the problem was never as bad as it is now and it's also pretty obvious there's similar problems all across sheffield at various schools Having busy stressful life's is not an excuse for parking like idiots and turning roads into absolute carnage for the sake of getting 5yards closer to the gates so your child doesn't have to walk, i know my parents had busy life's when i was that age and pretty sure a lot of my friends parents were similar and we all attended Rivelin and i genuinely do not remember parking problems like these -
Rivelin Primary School parking
S6_owl1986 replied to S6_owl1986's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Without the lights the problem is still there, i travel this way daily and the parking at school pickup time is an absolute disgrace I'm not having a pop at the school whatsoever , i attended this school myself but don't remember there ever been so many cars at pickup time ! What's the catchment area these days ?!? Can kids not walk ?! -
God forbid the emergency services need access to Morley street at picking up time , just had the pleasure of fighting my way down Morley street and the amount of irresponsible parking on the top of the hill is an absolute nightmare !! Admittedly the temporary lights on Rivelin bank are not helping but come on... What a joke !

Are people still chiming on about castle market ?? They can save it / redevelop it all they like for me it will still be in an area of town i have no desire to Visit anymore than i did before when it was still the market What a waste of cash it will be to save the building for some poxy architectural interest !! The university didn't seem to care about architecture when they tore down the old jessops building
