  1. Managed to attend and it was lovely to see so many people had done the same for a gentleman who had done something amazing so that we can live freely today. I even took along my two children as I thought it was important to show them that people nowadays do still care for others whether they know them or not. Rest in Peace George.
  2. Hi, Not sure if you know but there are a lot of people sharing the article from the Daily Mail on Facebook. So with any luck people from the local area will attend for George. I will be thinking of him / try to walk down if I'm near by - did not know him but have read his amazing story. I'm sure he was an interesting character. x
  3. Hi, Currently investigating my family tree and wondered if anyone knew my grandparents & great grandparents. My grandfather was Robert Sinclair (Bob) lived around the Coleridge Road area of Sheffield, born 1931. His mum was Florence & dad was Robert. My grandfather worked in lots of steel foundries & companies as a wagon / lorry driver. Also my nan Mary Simpson (born 1931), who had a sister Joyce and brother Harry. (Parents William Henry & Mary Elizabeth nee Jepson). Any memories or recollections anyone has would be brilliant. Thank you
  4. Hi wondered if anyone knew of a Margaretta Ethel Weir born in USA in 1888/1889 and lived in Attercliffe / Darnall area until her death in 1963?
