  1. Park early, no need to. I recently parked there mid week at 11am and there was plenty of space at the far end of Horndean road. And yes I parked courteously without blocking anyone's driveway or blocking the road. The reason I parked there was because I could not find a parking space in the hospital grounds, surprisingly.
  2. I didn't say the binmens strike was about terms and conditions. ---------- Post added 31-03-2016 at 22:12 ---------- You obviously haven't worked for an employer who will discipline emloyees for no reason whatsoever. Believe it or not it does happen.
  3. So who protects the workforce when management force through changes of employees terms and conditions? Or are you saying they don't deserve to be protected?
  4. You're obviously in the job and know far more than me.
  5. Don't believe everything you read where the fire service is concerned.
  6. I class frontline as anyone that responds to emergencies. ---------- Post added 18-03-2016 at 18:01 ---------- Any local community groups can apply for a share of the 2 million pounds, nothing to do with fire prevention at all.
  7. I get your point but I feel it's irrelevant the reasons the money is awarded. In the current financial climate I feel it's very poor judgement to be giving that amount of money away while at the same time cutting the frontline. How can that be morally justified.
  8. Fire Service contributions have increased by 2% yet the Fire Authority feel it appropriate to make 2 million quid available for local community groups to apply for a share. This is the 2nd time this has happened in the last few years which in my opinion is totally unacceptable and not what this money is intended for. Taking into account frontline cuts, this decision is a disgrace.
  9. I have had a ring made at Edward James as stated above. Had it made 25 years ago using 24 carrot gold that was my grandads. They did a great job. Also recently use Ellipse at swallownest near Aston and had wife's engagement ring and both out wedding rings made from scratch. Glen (the jeweller) just sets off drawing as you describe likes, don't likes and he's brilliant. Also excellent price wise.
  10. Wait until you expect an ambulance and a fire engine turns up. Coming to a place near you soon...
  11. Hello, can anyone recommend someone to remove or even improve a 6cm scratch on a ceramic hob. I assume it has been caught with a tip of a knife although the culprit is yet to own up!! It may be too deep to fully remove but any improvement is worth a try. Thanks.
  12. i recently bought from B and Q to patch up my rear garden with. Usually id be wary about buying cheap rolls of turf (not that im saying B and Q is) as you can find its full of weeds but this was great and is now as lush as the rest of the blades of grass. Now is ok to re turf irrespective of what another forum member, no dis-respect intended, stated as long as its watered regularly. £2.50 per roll from B and Q. Not sure how this compares as a bulk buy to other places as i only needed a couple of rolls.
  13. Yes it definitely is worse and without jumping on the bandwaggon of the Roma, it is worse since their arrival. The cleanliness of the area, the intimidation, the lack of respect for others, the setting on fire of household items in the street. I could go on and on.
  14. I totally disagree, although I don't live in the area I do work in this area as I have done for 14 years and in my opinion its horrendous.
