  3. Eco Vitro do cover Sheffield, they are national so you could certainly contact them to see if they can help. It's definitely worth contacting them. they have loads of positive feedback through the Fair Trades website, just search for them to see. You need to consider the structural integrity of the building when thinking about changing to a tile roof, will the walls hold the weight of the new roof? And also need to consider builing regulations, but a quick call to them should clarify from that view point, they will want to know the cubic meterage of the conservatory to check it is within the permitted peramiters for concent without formal planning permission. Hope this helps.
  4. You can zone off the conservatory from your main boiler and add an independent thermostat for heating control. Your best bet is to go for underfloor heating and there is a product manufactured by Polypipe called Overlay which is fitted over the existing floor and connects up to your existing heating system via a manifold and heat pump. You can find out more at http://www.freeyourwalls.com and they have an installer network so you can search for an approved local installer. They all offer free quotes and advice. One thing I will say id that with a polycarbonate roof you will find your conservatory hot in summer and cold in winter. You may want to consider upgrading it to a glass roof at some point in the future and this will improve your conservatories thermal insulation, making it more comfortable throughout the year. For this I would recommend BioClean Aqua as the glass and EcoVitro or Refresh Conservatory Roof Glass Ltd for installation. I hope this helps.

  9. You want to try BioClean Aqua. The company is Eco Vitro and they specialise of conservatory glass roof replacement. It reflect natural daylight in the summer to keep your conservatory cool and retains warmth in the winter with its advanced coating. It is also a self cleaning glass so will reduce the amount of manual cleaning required to maintain your conservatory.
  10. We have tried a few in the past... Rated People, My Hammer, My Workman. Obviously they all work slightly differently and it is a few years since we last advertised or listed ourselves through any of them, but we found that the cost per enquiry and conversion was not working in our favour. We actually get far more enquiries and leads through Sheffield Forum and they are Free. We have had great recommendations through SF member and found it to be of far more value than paid for activity through other sites. We also found it can be quite laborious and time consuming dealing with all the different sites and that it was counterproductive to a working day. Good luck with whatever you decide to do...

  12. Definitely replace it rather than cutting it. It can damage the integrity of the door making it weaker and you may also need to consider any implications with your insurance if it means the house is easier to break into. Not suggesting someone might get in through the cat flap, but if the glass would break easier after being cut it may be an issue. Depending on your house construction it is possilbe to install a cat flap through a wall, but it would be cheaper just to buy a new door.
  13. Try Hutchy on 07875 212792 we work on a lot of projects together and he is really good.
  14. You can easily get away with dry lining it instead of full plastering. You just need to consider any services running within the partition, if there are any. If you need any further advice please get in touch.
  15. If you can, I would defintely recommend going for a water based floor heating system that connects to your existing heating system. The problem with electric is that they are simply tile warmers whereas a water based system will act as the central heating within the room. It also means you can do away with your wall based radiators and free up space for additional wall units/storage. If you would like any additional information or advice we can come and have a chat with you. There is no obligation and our advice is free.
