  1. I agree it is over rated . The gift stalls are mainly over priced tat . I think they have done away way with the one way system because the traders complained . You could walk from Lincoln station , it's not that far from Steep Hill . Lincoln is a nice place to visit and I recommend going when the Christmas Market is not on .
  2. Seems alright to me, providing they don't have criminal records .
  3. Maybe they couldn't get the staff to fly the five jets as well
  4. It seems Tesco are having serious financial problems . They have built a new store in Immingham which was suppose to open before this Christmas ,then it was rescheduled for Spring 2015 and now they say not until Summer 2015 . Immingham does no have any supermarkets which can only mean the delay is a result of financial reasons .
  5. The solicitor did very little work during the two year period . They did not investigate the case at all , the only people they had contact with was eventually the Supermarket's solicitors and my relative . It took six months for the solicitors to gain the funding for the case which was in the form of an insurance policy . The insurance premium was about £1500 which was paid for by my relatives solicitors . It took another three months before the solicitors made first contact with the Supermarket . It also took my relative's solicitor a further five months to reply to a letter from the supermarket's solicitors . The solicitor's fees were just under £5000 which were paid for by the insurance company . My relative asked for all the paper work regarding the case which turned out to be very little and could only have amounted to two days work at the most . You are quite correct in saying the solicitors did not take on the case just for fun , they earned over £3000 for doing nothing . My relative regrets going down "the no win no fee" route instead of funding a Solicitor herself because she had a genuine claim against the supermarket and is still suffering as a consequence of her injuries and will never recover . BTW - Her injuries were caused by a faulty revolving door . The supermarket claimed the door was well maintained but stated they had destroyed maintenance records when asked to prove it. They also put a false statement in the accident book which apparently is not a criminal offence . My relative's solicitor's did not challenge this or contact the Police or Council who had information regarding the incident .
  6. I am employed so can't afford Sky or £40 a month for a mobile . Food and Energy bills my biggest outgoings a month .
  7. Are you suggesting atrocities currently happening in Syria and Iraq are lies ? Are you suggesting the four "beheadings" are lies ? Are you suggesting claims British passport holders have joined the terrorist group Isil are lies ? Perhaps you would be happy if MI5 and the Metropolitan Police follow the example of South Yorkshire Police and take no action rather then risk undermining race relations ?
  8. A typical question from an over paid solicitor . The original poster used the term "regular" solicitor . I knew what they meant and used the same term in reply to their post . I suspect you also know what they mean as well .
  9. A relative had a bad experience with a "no win no fee solicitor" The solicitor she used was very poor at keeping her informed and did very little work over two years . After two years the solicitor said they no longer were prepared to take the case on "a no win no fee " basis because they thought they could not win the case . Over the two years the solicitor never challenged the letters the defendants ( a supermarket) sent to them . Sometimes a claimant has to pay an insurance fee to cover the cost of legal work . Once a " No win no fee " solicitor has dropped the case it may be well into the third year after an accident and it can be very hard and costly finding a regular solicitor to sort out the mess " the no win no fee " solicitor has left you in . My advice is to seek a regular solicitor who will not string you along . The greedy solicitors led to the Government stopping Legal Aid previously available to genuine accident victims .
  10. Absolute garbage , his defence cost around £350 ,000 not millions . However , he still had to sell his house to fund the costs . The prosecution costs are more likely to be millions . The offence he was found guilty of was a new allegation which came about after his first trial where he was not found guilty of any charges . He hasn't got off with anything and never sounded like a man "kakking" himself to me just a bitter man who had suffered misjustice
  11. No they should alter the rules or move the goal posts to suit Qatar just like FIFA seem to have done regarding the World Cup
  12. It was the foul mouthed alternative comedians who finished Benny Hill off . I seem to remember Ben Elton accusing Benny Hill of being to blame for all the rapes which took place in the country at the time .
  13. Couldn't agree with you more . At a time when Police are choosing not to fully investigate hundreds of thousands of crimes because they are deemed 'unsolvable' it's a national disgrace resources are wasted on such nonsense simply because a celebrity name is mentioned . The Lawyers are the parasites of our society and it's even worse that during times of austerity they can get away with robbing our nation of limited resources which could be used in much more positive ways.
  14. An utter disgrace tax payers money has been wasted on this case . The Crown Prosecution should have dropped all proceedings earlier in the year after his first trial .
