I stand corrected somewhat by Sadbrewer about Hammonds. Altho' they had quite a heavy presence of Pubs in Rotherham. They were actually a Bradford brewery, but aquired a Tadcaster brewery in 1946 called Tadcaster Tower brewery. Anyone heard of a Sheffield Brewery called Richdales Brewery. Their slogon was Richdales for rich ales This was a Sheffield brewery on Brammal lane, aquired by Hammonds.

Hammonds was a Rotherham Brewery and had many Pubs in Rotherham. They joined up with Hope & Anchor brewery of Sheffield, became Hammonds United brewery and then Charringtons of London. I believe that Hammonds had some Pubs in Sheffield. Byron House at Nether Edge I think was one.

My Friend Norman, Lived opposite a small plumbers called Lazenby, I think. He worked as an Electrician for a company called Bufton Electrics at Darnal. I believe he went to Granville college.Would like to know his Surname so I can try and trace him. This was all in the early 1960's

I have been trying to trace an old Friend of mine who lived on Sherrington Road. Name Norman?? Forgot his surname. Will be in his late 60's now. Lived with his Mum and Dad and had a golden labrador. Any info would be appreciated.

My Sister went there from about 1953 to about 1959 ( Cant be too exact). Her name was Angela Margaret Russell.. Bill was one of the lads. Several of us went to school together at Rowlinson and then a few years after we left some of us went into the car business as did Bill. After he teemed up with your Nan (Forgot her name) we seem to drift apart as mates often do. Miss him a lot and after his body was found, the police went round all his old pals trying to find out why and where he got the gun from. Its still a mystery today. Out of morbid curiosity, a few of us went to see his body in the chapel of rest before the funeral. Bill is the only dead body I have ever seen and dont want to see any more. It was really upsetting. For the past 25yrs I now live in Bangkok.

The only person that I remember that Bill was going out with was a girl living at 199 Lowedges road. Is this the same girl as your Nan.
