Platies prefer their tanks on the warm side, 78-85 degrees I've heard (correct me if I'm wrong.) This is the 3rd negative thing I've heard about Pets at Home, won't be buying fish from there. Thanks for the helpful post.

I have a well planted/cycled/heated set up, so if you can't afford anything better and want a good home for your platy, PM me. (I'm starting off anew as I recently moved to the UK from America for my bf, and am ready to start adding fish.)
