Thanks for that , I thought the buyer was always protected , will try PayPal as well

Just contact ebay, it is in their terms that faulty / incorrect items are covered for return by ebay (even if seller states they dont accept returns)

I don’t believe there were ever going to be water features. The planting areas are sustainable urban drainage ( SUD’s), are you confusing that with a water feature?

I live nearby, and when they started the area around the courts with the 'grow wild' area, (love square) the leaflets they distributed showed it as a water feature, the area on the corner (police station side) also showed a couple of kiosks and such, but they also never appeared!

We keep being told that electric car batteries, and indeed battery systems used with solar systems last "for many years".

So, if that's the case, why are Lap Top batteries only last months ?

In fact I can remember buying a Lap Top from John Lewis which came with a two year warranty, yet the battery was excluded !

Many factors, the way the battery is kept and/or used, the charge/discharge cycles, the battery type/technology, the way the laptop power saving is setup, the age of the laptop (and speed/efficiency etc)

Batteries are rarely covered under Warranty past the first 6 months, because of how volatile they actually are...

If you want your battery to last longer there are a few things you can do.
    - Run laptop in power saving / low power mode.

    - Try not to leave USB devices plugged in while the laptop is turned off (when using battery).

    - if/where available set (in BIOS) to all battery saving features.

    - when discharging, NEVER let it drain to the point that windows shuts off (odd occasion is ok, but regularly no).

    - when charging, try and not use the laptop, and only charge to 85-90% approx.
    - when using plugged in, (especially for extended periods) once battery is fully charged - remove/unplug the battery (not always possible)

    - use only the charger that came with your laptop, using an incorrect/under powered charger can put strain on the charger, and in turn .'could' cause damage to the battery and/or laptop.
    - where possible, turn off Bluetooth/WiFi etc and use Ethernet connection..

    - if it's an older laptop, upgrade to an SSD if it doesn't already have one!

Also, if you plan to store the laptop (not use it for a while) you should discharge the battery to below 40% and unplug/remove it where possible...

How do I get something like the above, what is it called.

I am not technical, but I want some type of simple news page that I can share online.

Bit.Ly is just a URL shortener, if that's all you want then your answer is above...

If not, and you want a full website,  you could google for "Free blog builder" and give some a go, otherwise you're looking at picking and buying a web address, paying for hosting, and building your own (or setting up one of the many existing) templates for what you want!

  5. If it's saying "overclocking" it could be that it's referring to your RAM...  would be better if you can note down the WHOLE message next time it happens, should give a better idea! :)

if your RAM is higher-speed and using XMP, that is effectively 'factory' overclocking... it also depends where you got the machine from originally, it could be the CPU was slightly overclocked...

Could potentially just need a good clean out (physically and software)

  6. Pretty much anywhere that has greenspace, will have them - the quantity and quality (how far from roads etc) is what varies...

Look around on google maps for large(r) open spaces, things like, Parkwood Springs, the Bolehills, The Pondarosa, Skye Edge Fields, Norfolk Park, Middlewood Park, Endcliffe Park, Meersbrook Park.... etc... :)

My hotmail account was for spam and general rubbish so I called it paul Smith now I use it for everything and want my proper name to display I've tried in vain to change it anyone any clue how to do it if it's possible any help appreciated

Username is different to the display name, usually just log-in, go to the account info and you can edit the 'name' there..

if you want to change the email address, just make a new one

    I love a condescending reply.

I don't fit into any of those groups the last two I've had (pre covid scam) were done by Vision Express in larger Tesco stores and were totally free with no obligations, just wondering if any similar deals were around now, why pay if you don't have to.

If you are referring to WorldCoin and the 'ball' - i'm not aware of any in Sheffield as yet, but I believe we will be getting one by the end of the year!

'Duck' as term of address  certainly  travels  down in to Notts  -  ' ey up me duck' being  cited  as the typical dialect greeting

then of  of course to take to extremes

'tin't in tin  - said  - tin tin tin  -   translated to RP  'it is not in the tin'

Alexa responds with "Ey up mi duck" some times if you say hi :)
