Is your 'annex' and house on the same circuit? (electrical) because they need to be for the powerline things to work (Unless they are the crappy wifi ones, which are just basically WiFi extenders and aren't very good usually)

Why wouldn't 112 do anything? that's the number that is 'standard' across the EU member countries (and us as we WERE part of it when that was introduced in 1995) it's also part of the GSM standard for over here! 911 is for the US!

It's actually part of the original GSM specification that emergency calls should be possible when the phone is in a locked state... (and also with no SIM card) if you want to rage at someone, rage at ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) - as they are the ones who made the decision...

What phones? My mum used to have one of the old-school Nokia 5110 "brick" phones, even that you could still call emergency number with the keypad locked... You can even call them without a SIM in most phones....

Currently Vodafone, as they had the best offer at the time, Gbit for £30/month (rose to £34 in April 23 tho) for 24 months... Once that time's up, i'll see what other offers there are (mibbe a different provider on CityFiber) or see what Voda can offer, mibbe drop my speed to 500mb - but it's 1:1 so the download and upload are the same... Measured (speedtest) I get around 700-850mbps at peak time of day (around this time, 6pm) and my peak in the evening has been around 970mbps - upload is usually around 930-950 ish

I'm on CityFiber - have been for about a year now.... nice and fast and stable, (Other than a few teething problems in the first week)
