  1. I've got video, a guy running, a woman's face but don't think I've got one called macro? I can check when I get home though??
  2. When I'm zooming in I can't seem to get the quality I'm after, it just goes blurry?? I enjoy taking close ups of flowers etc but I can't seem to get the definition?
  3. I've been debating between digital & SLR for a bit now. I've been given an SLR but I'm finding it too heavy. I'm looking at getting a better quality digital camera but I'm not sure what I need to look for. I think I need to look more at optical zoom as opposed to digital zoom but general advice would be appreciated. At the moment I have a 8.1MP camera and I'm looking at upgrading. Thanks!!!
  4. Do you think it makes a difference if when you have your pictures developed, you choose matt or glossy finish? Whenever I've had photos developed (which isn't that often) I've always gone for matt because I (personally) think glossy can look a bit tacky on some pictures. I'm just interested to know other people's opinions on this one?
  5. I found this one quite interesting: http://www.snapjunky.com
  6. Thanks very much Imp, I've been thinking and decided to upload some photos to Flickr. I'd appreciate if you kind folk would have a quick look and lemme know what you think? Cheers!!!
  7. I've just had a quick look on Ebay to get some prices - one camera went for £1500!!!!!!!!!! OMG - I don't have the kind of money! ??????
  8. At the moment I have a digital camera, it's an 8.1MP but that's your lot!! So, the way I read that that wikipedia link is that SLR gives you more of an accurate picture as opposed to a point & shoot?
  9. Hi all I'm completely new to photography. It's something I've always had a 'hidden' interest in but various occurences lately have caused me to seriously consider what I want. I've decided I want to pursue this more seriously. I'm not talking as a profession, but to take a lot more interest. Basically, I need help. I was thinking of starting with some books but I don't know where to start and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? Bearing in mind I'm a COMPLETE starter and although I'm ashamed to admit but I only think I know the difference between a digital & an SLR camera <hangs head in shame> Any help HUGELY appreciated!!
  10. Sounds a bit dodgy to me. I hope it isn't for your sake. I'd sit him down, have a face to face talk and just be honest about how you feel & your concerns. Good luck. :hugs:
  11. Slightly off subject, but I was told a couple of days ago that you aren't legally allowed to take your test until you're 18, even if you start driving at the age of 17. I'm not sure how true this is? I'm mentioning it because my niece is 17 in a couple of months and was looking at an intensive course like this. Well until she was told she'd have to have lessons for a year until she could try for her test!!
  12. Wilkinson's, about 16 for 99p. YOu have to be over 18 apparently to buy them??
  13. I thought a baby wasn't classed as a 'child' or another person until they reach the age of 1? I might be wrong so don't quote me. I think part of it also depends on your current situation.
  14. Oh bless!!!!!! And where would we go picking fruit?? On a slightly serious note, I AM looking for an S12 'krew'. Let's just say it's for 'reference'.
  15. I think it's ironic. Don't understand why he bothered use a knife to pinch a Primera, but there you go.
  16. Yes it is, they've gone into 'voluntary liquidation' I know someone who works there, they weren't told before a sign went up to advise of the closure. They haven't been given a date either, they're just turning up work and hoping it's still open.
  17. I once saw an appendix for sale on Ebay. Another time I saw, well . . . How can I put it? bodily fluids.
  18. Right. I've also tried using the DVD burner program whatsit that comes with Vista and that's not working - it just says my disc is invalid or it can't be read or something???? I've tried using cheapo £1 shop DVDs and also DVD RW and neither works. Out of sheer frustration I ended up plumbing my old XP PC up and burning using that one - it's working FINE and the discs I've tried unsuccessfully to burn onto on my Vista PC will work on my XP PC. I want to cry! :help:
  19. She's GORGE. I particularly likes the way she smiles and pouts at the camera. Does it for me every time!!!!!!
  20. I think it's gorge, only had one bad experience from there and they gave me a free garlic bread next time I went in!!!! They normally say about 45 minutes for delivery and they've never taken that long, it's usually with me inside of 30 minutes!!!
  21. Hmmmmm. The UP TO 8 meg is limited for usage and downloads (the latter won't be an problem) but bear in mind that you won't get anywhere near 8 meg as most phone lines won't support it. I've heard LOADS of bad press about sky BB but as with all companies it's swings and roundabouts.
