moved last year and had work done-learned a lot! 1. always get 3 quotes 2. ask for references from previous clients esp. if it's an expensive job 3. get everything in writing 4. make sure you/your builder gives you the correct official paperwork for rewiring, boiler work, building regs etc. Good luck with the move!

just had 3 John Lewis bookcases/storage units put together by Mark from "Flatpack Freedom" 01246 558303 (Chesterfield) Seeing him work made me realise it would have been a nightmare to do myself. 6 hours hard work for a very reasonable price. Excellent job.

We were in the old hospital. The guy upstairs was paying £770/month for a big 2 bed flat. I think the trick is to haggle over the rent. For a landlord less rent is better than no rent

Went to Remo's Bistro Night on 17th. Food was fantastic. Lovely staff, great atmosphere. BYO with no corkage. Antipasto (yummy), Tuscan bean, smoked garlic and red pepper soup, sea bass fillets with samphire, warm pannatone with ricotta and berries and coffee. Excellent value. They are doing these once a month. We will be back!

Moved to Sheffield from Kent last July. S10, S11 and S13 described to us by a letting agent as "the usual suspects". Rented in Nether Edge (S11)- £5 cab fare or 10mins on bus into town. Really convenient within walking distance of Hunter's Bar/Eccy Road shops, bars etc. Hope you settle as well as we did.

We had an indian stone terrace laid by Wilson Laidler- they were excellent-quick, clean and the price seemed reasonable. Lee Wilson was a really helpful guy to deal with. I think it's good to get it sealed when it's new though- Ours has a couple of grease spots (BBQ spillage!!) already and it's only a few weeks old. We will get it sealed very soon
