Thanks for the input. Was just giving the OP some ideas. We're not actually recommending they buy any particular model or with any company. Just showing there can be more cost effective ways of finding a solution.

Good Morning, CCTV systems are pretty easy to install yourself especially the models that are wireless from your WiFi. It would probably involve a basic knowledge of DIY, a ladder and a drill. Ebay stock a wide range. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR7.TRC2.A0.H0.Xcctv.TRS0&_nkw=cctv&ghostText=&_sacat=0 You can also install 'Decoy CCTV' which will save you a fortune and work very well as a deterrent.

Will Sheffield Ever catch up with Leeds/Manchester?
SaferSheff replied to PPC_Appeals's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I drove to Manchester on Sunday and while heading into the city centre i realised that the issue with Sheffield is that its built in a valleys which give the impression of being quite small. Manchester by size is not that much different from Sheffield but as its mostly flat, you cans see for miles and it looks vast. Wioth Sheffield city centre being in a valley expansion is going to be limited and really is only about 1 mile sqaure which is tiny compared to other cities. Also, Sheffielder's have always taken this with pride that they are different from other cities and sometimes that can come across as resistant to change or just stubborn maybe sheffield should embrace its uniqueness. Maybe its time that Sheffield just accepted that its a collection of inner city Towns and use that as its advantage. -
Aldi Service Not Up To Scratch!!
SaferSheff replied to old tup's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I usually throw everything into the bags then carry the bags over to the back shelf and sort them out there if i need to. I like to be out of a supermarket as soon as possible. No fuss! The faster the better. Some people like to use Supermarkets to kill 4 hours on a Saturday afternoon and as a bit of a day out for the kids . -
They cut up the felled trees on Snakepass and leave them on the side of the road for people to help themselves. Got some beauties last winter.

The food is pre-cooked and then sealed in special packaging until it is microwaved. The food is of good quality ingredients and amazing value for money. Fish Friday is good and a few of us occasionally meet on eccy road on a Sunday and have Eggs Benedict for only £3.50 incs Coffee. Ive paid £12 for it in before.

Cooplands bakery announce 500 job losses
SaferSheff replied to rossyrooney's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
I think the fact that Greggs has a franchise business model that enables them to have a shop on every corner and then the £1 Bakery comes along too. Very difficult for an independent business to compete against that. -
Sheffield Retail Quarter (ex-"Sevenstone") MEGATHREAD
SaferSheff replied to bigflesh's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
That whole area including Co-Op, Castle Market, B&M......is being redeveloped -
This story did make us chuckle. The the video would only be a thermal imaging video in a wooded area not through someones window. Its a slap on a wrist surely? Not suspending a highly trained officer from duty and spend £1000's on an investigation.

Sheffield Retail Quarter (ex-"Sevenstone") MEGATHREAD
SaferSheff replied to bigflesh's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/moor-details-of-sheffield-shopping-regeneration-emerge-1-7090596 Details of how the next phase of regeneration will reshape The Moor in Sheffield are emerging as developers make progress. Phase one of the redevelopment including The Moor Market and nine retail units which are close to being fully let - with clothing store Peacocks and shoe shop Deichmann still to open, while a gym operator is to move in. Now more details of phase two - to include a flagship store for Primark and nine screen cinema run by Light Cinemas - have been revealed. One of the seven restaurants on the site will be chain Gourmet Burger Kitchen. Ranald Philips, director of development manager Ashcroft, said the firm had identified the need for a ‘strong food and entertainment complex’ at that side of the city. He added: “We have invested in improving the public realm and our contemporary retail space is generating growing interest from major retailers and leisure operators. “The Phase 2 restaurants are in demand and we are now in a position to review options so we can make innovative choices and bring new eating concepts to Sheffield city centre.” Contractor Bowmer and Kirkland has already started on site and preliminary works are underway. Project leaders also say they are looking at how The Moor will eventually ‘integrate’ with the city centre masterplan and the new retail quarter. The market was originally expected to open at the same time as the failed Sevenstone development. Stores to already open on phase one include TJ Hughes, Iceland, Poundland and The Entertainer. The Theatre Delicatessen Company has been taking over the old Woolworths store with activities such as a daytime arts cafe and evening theatre performances. -

Another VERY Light sentence for Dangerous Driving!!
SaferSheff posted a topic in General Discussions
"A banned driver who flipped his car over a hedge after reaching almost 100mph with a four-year old-boy in the back has been jailed for a year." We rarely like to comment on sentencing but this case was so lenient that we had to say something. We believe that there has to be a review of the inconsistency's of sentencing and that minimum rules for certain crimes need to be looked at. The Police must pull their hair out when they read stories like this. http://smarturl.it/3b2otd
