With Chris Edwards’ powerful lead vocals and the thunderous attack of Richard Jackson on drums. This is a band not to be taken lightly. With a huge admiration for Foo Fighters within the band, they started out playing songs such as All My Life, The Pretender and Learn to Fly. With regular spots at local open mic nights, requests were suggested to the band and their influences now include AC/DC, Arctic Monkeys, Blink 182, Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, Green Day, Led Zeppelin,Metallica, Muse, Nirvana, Queen and Queens Of The Stone Age. Full backline and P.A. provided, come watch or join in. 8.30pm, free entry Friday 6th July: Schaeffer Schaeffer started life in the mid 1980’s as a reflection of the move rock music was making from NWOBHM to a more ‘glam’ / ‘pop’ style of more accessible music They played a mixture of original material and pop rock covers from the charts at the time. After some local success playing around the north of England and through various lineup changes they called it a day in 1992. Since this time all band have had various other projects, many with some success. In 2017 Mark and Harris decided that some of the old original material was worthy of a reboot and gathered a group of top musos from local bands to help reform Schaeffer. Get ready! 9.30pm, free entry. Saturday 7th July: Metropolis Metröpolis are a 4 piece classic rock band from Sheffield, UK - playing original material and their own spin on classic-rock songs.   14. White Lion has live music every Tuesday,Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon. We also have jazz every third Monday. In addition to the 8/9 real ale pumps, we have a cider pump and then sell Amstel, Cobra, Shipyard and Carling alongside a selection of bottles. The bus stop directly opposite the pub is well serviced and you can get the last one into town (or further) around midnight.

  16. Mission accomplished! We had a road trip to Herts yesterday and brought back with us a mint condition bar billiards table. We got it installed and ready for opening today and it's been unbelievably well received by all! Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

  22. I wonder if some the long standing pub goers on here might be able to help? I'd quite like to get a bar billiards table for the pub and am keen to know if anyone can think of a pub where they used to have one before becoming unfashionable? I.e. they may have one unused and unloved, in storage or rotting away and would possibly be willing to sell? Any condition considered. Cheers!
