Unfortunately the government seems to have it in for the licensed trade, alcohol has always been ridiculously taxed but it just seems to be getting beyond a joke now, that coupled with the 24 hour licensing which I believe was just put in place to kill the atmosphere any bars had, then came the smoking ban, this coupled with the media's no doubt government influenced constant targeting of "binge drinking" (when did it change from just getting ******) and then the final nail in the coffin of the trade the smoking ban. I dont know why the government seems to want to stop everyone having a good time So glad I got out when I did.
