Just been on Google Maps and you are quite right. I didn't think that stretch was London Rd but in fact it is. I was going to Turners Hire and though you could use that stretch for access to the shop.

I have just got a fixed penalty for contravening the bus gate on London Road, the contravention happened on 11/11. The picture clearly shows me in the vehicle but it is not clear from the picture exactly where on London Road this bus gate is, can anyone tell me please?

Shah Groceries, Abbeydale Road

Such a lovely man, sadly for him the competition became bigger and better, I wish him health and happiness in his retirement. -
...well iv'e got news for you and the rest of your clique, I happen to have an opinion and choose to voice it on this forum. So again if you choose to continue with your petty and immature comments then that's fine. I am sure when all the hysteria dies down you may see by applying some perspective replacing 12 trees for the sake of public safety is not such a big deal.
-
If the attitude shown on here reflects how the protesters have approached the issue then I am not surprised that the protest is doomed to fail. In the grand scheme of things whatever the outcome it will not change my life and will not effect my property value. I see the replacement program albeit overdue the most cost effective, quickest and most effective way of dealing with these old trees, the roads and pavements will then become safe for the whole community to enjoy.
-
OK if resorting to patronising comments make you feel better then feel free to continue the debate in that nature but I will not be bullied by anyone who's opinion I do not happen to agree with. It is my opinion that the trees are a mess and have caused considerable damage to the environment and provide risk of injury. Your 'evidence' is all based on the fact you have a different opinion to me and therefore is biased to support your claim. I do not believe our council would not go round cutting trees down without good reason and on this occasion I trust the expertise that they have at their disposal.

I had a walk on Rustlings Road at the weekend and was appalled at the state of the pavements near to where these trees are to be felled, looking at the damage these trees should have been cut down years ago. What also confounded me is why hasn't any of the 'keep the trees brigade' tidied up the base of these trees where they are overgrown!
