  1. Ginger and white male cat hanging around gardens in S13. Not neutered, wearing a collar. This is not the cat from the posters on lampposts in Old Retford Road area. ---------- Post added 18-05-2015 at 14:34 ---------- Looking at a photo I have taken today, it seemed that he had an injured eye. I managed to pick him up and am waiting for the RSPCA to come and look at him. Will update later
  2. I spent a lot of my childhood going to see my Dad in King Edwards Hospital. He was in and out all through the sixties. He had broken his neck and at one point was on a traction type affair. He had a D shaped frame in his head and they used to hang weights off it. I remember he used to go to the children's ward a lot and they called him 'My Favourite Martian' which I think was a television programme. I especially remember one young lad who was a particular friend of my Dad's. At one point my Dad was unable to go to the children's ward and whilst he was away, Robert had learned to walk. They brought him to the ward to show my Dad and everyone cried. Dad's doctor was Mr Sharrard - I remember him as a lovely man. Lovely but sad memories
  3. Carver St is closed off from outside Walkabout to Division St. Police are there. Don't know what has happened but drivers are having problems.
  4. Happy to say that my promised tenner is on it's way to Rain Rescue. I love SF when good things like this happen. Well done everyone x
  5. I'd be happy to chip a tenner in too if someone will tell me where to take/send it. Ging you're a star for doing this.
  6. I won't donate to them either. It's over 15 years ago now when a friend of mine had her young cat run over outside her front door about 8pm. He was in a bad way, so we phoned the PDSA to be told - "Put 'IT' in a box and if it is still alive tomorrow, bring it in" We didn't do what they said, we all rallied round and paid for him to go to a private vet who treated him for a fractured jaw and pelvis, severe cuts and bruises and shock. We were told he would have died overnight if left. They don't get a penny from me and never will!
  7. Daft creature just strolled in in - very jumpy and very dry to say it has been raining all night. Thanks for listening x
  8. They aren't taking calls today so we have that joy on Monday if he isn't back.
  9. Thanks, have talked to the neighbours. We've done the horrible walk down the main road looking for him and didn't find anything. His sister is very unconcerned and normally if he has got himself in the garage, she will sit outside and cry to let us know. Again, thanks for looking out for him
  10. We are in Old Retford Road so the very bottom end of Handsworth. Thank you for looking. I am sure he will turn up soon but it's not like him, he loves his grub and his comforts.
  11. Our handsome but dense and very curious boy cat Syd has gone missing. He hasn't an ounce of common sense but can usually be relied upon to be in the house at 4pm for his tea. He didn't come home yesterday so we would be grateful if folks in Handsworth would keep an eye out for him. He's a large tabby with a white nose and chest, is chipped and wearing a brown collar with his details on. Pound to a penny he will stroll in later and wonder what the fuss is about - fingers crossed!
  12. Our boy cat went missing yesterday in the Old Retford Road area of Handsworth. I'd be very grateful if folks in the area would take a minute to check their outbuildings . He is large tabby with a white nose and chest, wearing a brown collar with his details attached and answers to the name of Syd. He is chipped so we will be checking Thanks Loz Has been found, thank you
  13. Hi, just rang Meadowhall and Orange carparks 3 & 4 will be closed all day.
  14. I have just had an email, saying it is from Virgin Media and asking me to log in to amend my personal billing details. There is no account number, and no branding. It doesn't call you by name. Have spoken to Virgin, they say it is a spoof. Please don't access the links. I had problems on their webpage too, it prompts you to download malaware software, this is also a spoof. Please be careful.
  15. You have a real talent for this Moonbird. It's delightful and with the replies you get it would make a lovely book as has been suggested. I'd buy it!
