I work near Tickhill Doncaster, I live in Gleadless. I have to drive to work but car is blocked in at bottom of hill, unmoveable! So I can't go to work even though I want to.I'm not skiving!

Thanks to who ever it was that took something very sharp and went down both sides of my car doors leaving one deep scratch and one not quite so deep, I am now looking for someone who does cosmetic repairs to sort this out for me without having to have a full respray on both sides. Anybody know of someone who can help?

Hi kel 89, Got a garmin street pilot. Takes me off, gets me lost, then says "cannot navigate from here!! " Used twice, did this twice! Contacted Garmin who explained how to update, have done this but as yet not used it since.

Has anyone experienced problems with their sat navs getting them lost? Bought one a few weeks ago, used it twice and it got me lost twice! Am now reluctant to rely on it which defeats the purpose of buying it.

Hi Kimba I remember the birkby family well, Sharon and Marion if Im not mistaken,Friends of Elaine Wilson. Think they lived in next yard to me. I lived on Tyler Street until '64 then moved to Jenkin Road for a while and lived above my Grandparents shop (Shepherd's) before leaving to live in Rotherham in '66. Back in Sheffield now. Hope your family are keeping well. (My Gran just celebrated her 101 birthday!!!!)

Since the work has started on the M1, I now have to leave home in Gleadless at 7.40am make my way to the traffic jam waiting to join the M1 junction 31 Queue for at least 30 mins, travel to junction 1 M18 (3mins) and arrive at work in Maltby at around 8.30am for a 9am start. If I leave home any later the school run has begun and I am seriously late for work!! Alternate route through Aughton to Whiston crossroads?? Well road works are to begin on the crossroads in Feb lasting 12 months!! Whose good planning is that to put major long term works at the SAME time on the busiest routes into Rotherham. My working day has now increased by 3hours!! Surely one way to ease congestion would be for schools to start and finish later?? What a difference the school holidays make!!

Hi again Mark, Just thought you may like to know, my gran (mrs Shepherd) is still very much alive and kicking and reach the age of 100 in February this year!! My Grandad died in 1984. You are right with the Wilsons names, although there were several more children in the family. I had relations that lived on Limpsfield Road called Yerrell, they moved South several years ago.

Hi Mark, Nice to hear some names from the past! I remember a lot of those you mentioned. I went to Brightside school until 66 when we moved to Rotherham. My grandparents had the shop on Jenkin Road for many years (Shepherd's) Sorry but I don't recognise your name. I remember the Harrison's who also lived just across from the rec, the Wilson's who lived on Walling Road. Gordon Mc clean is the father of Janet and Olivia who also lived on Walling Road. unless there is another one I don't know. Have you looked on Friends re united? Brightside School is on there.

Great place is Tequilla's at Gleadless townend. Excellent food, value for money, great entertainment. can't fault it. But book for later sitting or you have to leave before entertainment starts.

Please can anyone tell me what the speed limit is on Penistone road from Shalesmoor to Hillsbrough football ground. Some say it's 30mph some say 40mph. There are speed camera's along that stretch so we always stick to 30mph (having just paid £60 and got 3 points on a trip to Bridlington),but many drivers overtake us.

Leave M18 at junction 1. Turn right to Bawtry, when you arrive at T junction in Bawtry, turn left, follow signs for airport, parking is easy right outside departures. Happy hols

I remember my mum trying to pull me up Walling Rd Brightside to our front door. I had to hang on to the door handle while she went in the back way and let me in I was 6yrs old

My grandparents had the shop straight across from your pub. It was demolished in 1976 along with all the terraced houses that went up Jenkin Road. It was called Shepherds shop, They ran it from 1940's till it was knocked down. I lived above the shop in 1964 until 1966 and used to play with the grand-daughter of the owner of your pub at that time, but i can't remember the names.

Can anyone recommend an electrician? Need a couple of new sockets fitting, but no-one seems interested in small jobs these days.Keep ringing people but they don't bother to turn up as arranged.
