A week's worth of rain due to fall today... worried?
hmr44 replied to fox20thc's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
That's what I said last time until I couldn't get home! I think we'll be ok, but it's good to worry about it a little because we'll be prepared if it does happen! I'd rather it happen now in January than ruin the Summer again!! x -
Primrose Valley featured a lot in my Childhood!! I really love it, it's become more commercialised over the years but it is still great! I went for the day last year and remembered just how lovely it is, right next to Filey beach, it has a pool and everything, and a little boating lake with lots of ducks! I haven't stayed in a caravan for years but they all look really nice! I'd definitley go there instead of Butlins! x

Haha it won't let me put Hilary S's last name for obvious reasons! x

I thought the film was brilliant but completely different from the book! I've read the book a few times and it is one of my favourites! I did like the film though. Hilary S**** got on my nerves at first and I thought 'she is NOT Holly!!' but I warmed to her towards the end. Lisa Kudrow was my favourite in it, I thought she was hilarious! x

True. They might have just thought they had a lot in common! -

Eeeeeeeeeewww!!! That's horrible! Surely they knew, with having the same birthday, both being adopted etc.... x -
I think maybe it was a joke....

Very unattractive guys thinking they are God's gift to women, pinching our bums, sucking their teeth and staring as if we're going to throw ourselves at them! Nasty!

It's ok to take one, it's just when people take about 10 copies it amuses me. Maybe they're decorating and need to put newspaper down or something? Hmm......

Snobs - Do you know any, are you snobby about anything?
hmr44 replied to cressida's topic in General Discussions
Well I'm being honest, it's really not my thing. Maybe it's not the pub itself but some of the people in it -
Snobs - Do you know any, are you snobby about anything?
hmr44 replied to cressida's topic in General Discussions
I guess I'm a little bit snobby about things... 1. Places like Castle Markets, I would die if I was spotted in there and may be venturing there tomorrow for fruit... 2. Toiletries, as Edna before, I just wouldn't trust things that weren't branded, as my skin's really sensitive, Boots do some really nice skincare things though, and they're cheap! 3. Pubs. I hate going in pubs like the Old Monk! -
German Zoo To Let Polar Bears Starve To Death
hmr44 replied to robS35's topic in General Discussions
Aw poor little cubs, I hope they survive, I really think the zoo should help. I know they're not meant to interfere but they could at least help a little! x -
That's wrong but so, so right at the same time

Should Jeremy Clarkson be the Prime Minister?
hmr44 replied to loopylulu's topic in General Discussions
I love Jeremy Clarkson, he's so cool. I want him to be my dad! -
I really want to go to Barcelona in the Summer! It looks pretty cheap, hot, great scenery, they're also big on techno music out there so the nightlife looks great too! x

Do you know I haven't bought a pair of shoes in months! And have only spent about £30 in the January sales, I'm so proud of myself! Thank you for all your help, I think I'm going to wait til I actually move out and see how much spare cash I have left! x
-
Yeah I've thought about that already, so I'm saving for that too!
-
That's true, I live in High Green now so it's quite far from the city centre but ideally we'd like to live a lot closer, so I probably won't need one. I get a free parking space with work so parking costs wouldn't be an issue! At the risk of sounding like a big girl, I'd want to be able to go back home and see my mum and worry that if something happened I wouldn't be able to get back to help!
-
Hell yeah! I've been trying to work it all out for a few months to see what kind of house/flat we can afford, so am trying to save as much as I can before moving out so I have a little emergency fund!
-
Thank you guys and girls, this is all really helpful! My calculator is worn out! x
-
Thanks DD that's really helpful. I don't wanna grow up! Well we've decided to put about £500 a month each (£1,000) aside for rent, house bills and food and obviously it might be a bit more/less each month, and then whatever we're left with is our own for mobile bills, going out money etc. But I guess we won't know until after a few months and see what the bills are like! I don't know how people manage, especially if they have children too! Money just dwindles away so fast! x
-
Well I don't want to be on the bus forever, it's horrible! It would be nice to have more independence, and be able to get anywhere whenever I want without having to rely on public transport!
-
I'm moving in with my boyfriend, so I'll still have a bit more money than if I was on my own! I know it depends on lots of things, just wanted an average really!
-
How much would you say you spend per month for running your car. I'm just wanting to see how much it'll cost once I pass my test, and whether I can afford to move out AND drive! Thanks in advance. x
