  1. Yes! I did! Every Sunday as a kid. The next person has been to a fancy dress party in full fancy dress...
  2. Always found this a strange little pub. I've never , ever taken to it for some reason. In the early noughties it used to get quite busy in the back room on Saturday nights.
  3. My Mrs witnessed an incident yesterday evening when a guy was chasing 3/4 youths dressed in a local schools uniform down Morley Street and shouting after them about something to do with damage to a van. Unfortunately one of the boys dropped his mobile and the lad came asking for it back, but credit to the bloke he said he was ringing the police and he would be handing it over as evidence. Wouldn't like to be that kid when the police rang his parents.
  4. I know this is the manure thread, but anyone got a few bags of top soil that could be used in our 'mini allotment' at home? I use pallet collars as small beds to grow stuff in, and need to fill one more.
  5. Thanks for the info! Hope its adhered to.
  6. No way will I use this, i have seen 2 cars roofs severely dented by this contraption, just above the windscreen. Also a wing mirror hanging by the cables.
  7. I can remember as a kid, in the 70's, someone like Mike Yarwood did some kind of long winded musical joke where the punchline was ,"I can see Deidre now Lorraine has gone..!"
  8. Usually v. busy AFTER 10:30am. Opens at 8AM
  9. I know what it is. It's the pitch heaters at the Wednesday ground. They have them at Bramall Lane too and are wheeled own and off the pitch when needed. Can see it from my bedroom window.
  10. Must be me then, plenty more nicer places to stay than close to Arthur's Skips, a huge pile of recycled pile of grey waste, a very busy junction at peak times, a storage facility....the list goes on. Just because it's grade whatever listed doesn't make it desirable where it is.
  11. Relatives of mine witnessed what looked a very serious incident on Sunday 25th Feb. About 12 cars and vans and paramedics which is unusual for this road. Rumours locally say a very serious incident has occurred.
  12. I have watched this thread with interest as it went to auction, I just don't understand why it fetched that much money? It can't be knocked down (unless it falls down) , it's in the middle of an industrial estate, and as for converting to a hotel or apartments, well who would want to live there? The views would be of a recycling/waste disposal centre bang next door, constant traffic noise and massive wagons coming and going at all hours to the local businesses and the waste facility next door. I just don't see the appeal!
  13. Lol, I just had this guys mellow voice in my head when I read that, "This service is bound for Hafway.."
  14. Had a little play on one yesterday, and they seem quite decent. They remind me of the ones you can hire in the Netherlands, apart from the braking system. Apologies if you saw me piddling around Aldi carpark on Flora St yesterday if I entertained you while I was getting to grips with it!
  15. Yes, just the TWELVE points now, we're bricking it...
  16. I'll never get bored of seeing Chelsea getting stuffed...
  17. Very sad news, my fave show and watch it still. RIP Marty.
  18. What an amazing map, thanks Annie!
  19. Downgraded is a bit misleading. Quite frequently the drivers are having to drop a couple of 'runs' due to getting bogged down in the rush hour traffic on Penistone Road at the peak times. So often its not 25 runs per day anyway. Agree its not great tho.
  20. Strange, I was only thinking about folks who don't post much nowadays and I thought about you.Sorry for your loss and hope 2018 brings better times.
