Poppi replied to PRESLEY's topic in General Discussions
After working 45 years mostly full time paying tax and now being told my pension age has risen having claimed no benefits through not working I will be first at the door to get my pass (yes I do have my own car) and use it as often as I can -

First right foot done it was fused no screws although a little numb it's been great for 7years . Had left for done at thorn berry all work done is no good now big toe bent in again no screws not fused I had stitches almost half way down inside of foot Wished it had been fused like the other. Was told it was a new way of doing op what a mistake but too late now Very wary of going back again

I had that done 7 years ago and had no problems with it .I also had one done 2years ago the ordinary way and it hasn't worked. Going to try not to bother again if I can manage

Help special needs son independent living

My son uses citiszen first they seem ok but I had to ring a lot in the beginning because they took time getting things going putting my son in the red and getting bank charges. Everything working ok now but I keep checking with every one involved with him because he keeps things to himself -
I started with very painful muscles back in April last year in September I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and polymyalgia waiting to go to pain clinic on middle wood road Fairlawns when all blood tests complete it also deals with cfs and me. At the moments I'm on steriods and painkillers but at least I'm getting somewhere. My surgery is in firth park . I can't beleive I've gone from fit and active to needing rest because I'm tired and in pain. Have you thought of having a one off consultation with a consultant your gp has to refer you

Help special needs son independent living
Poppi replied to Jomail's topic in Disability & Carers Group
My son left home to go into in dependant living had assessment form filled in and got a flat with staff offering basic help and a budget to have what they call buddies helping him with shopping cleaning outings etc. he is now waiting to share either house or flat with one other with a housing trust and the buddies kept in place .i think social workers only offer a certain amount of help once they are over 18 years I know many times I've contacted them when I've been worried only to be told he's over 18 they can't interfere this was when he was being treated badly after agreeing to live with a friends family they were locking him in and using his money social workers would do nothing I was frantic ended up talking to him then going down in my car with others to get him out . I don't think they help much he also has his money sent to an in dependant company for them to give him spends and they pay bills so he doesn't get behind. At least I know now that he could make it on his own when I'm no longer here.Still isn't enough out there for them though -
