  1. Very well said! Should you have children if you cannot afford to buy them a school uniform? You know beforehand that this cost is included in the price of raising children in this country.
  2. I thought you were already famous Derby! Was it Gleadless Valley where the bus companies refused to travel?
  3. The football clubs pay for that though. Exactly as Daven has said, there are not enough police officers to drive the police cars.
  4. I suppose people are scared of the repercussions of reporting offenders to the police, and as you say, giving evidence against them. I honestly don't know what the answer to that is though.
  5. Not in recent times. They went from Area Control Rooms based at police stations to their current location. Are you referring to Nunnery Square, the white building at the side of the Parkway?
  6. Spot on except for the location of the Communications Room.
  7. Did the operator not take any details at all then. I'm surprised they didn't take a registration number at least.
  8. Sorry lil-minx92, I came across a bit blunt then, It wasn't my intention. Anyway it's the same operators who take 999 and 101 calls. Very true though, the operators arent police officers.
  9. The 999 operators work from SYP control room and are SYP staff.
  10. Derby Tup, I've not been to Bawtry for several years. I will try this on your recommendation. It sounds lovely.
  11. Not at all. Just that I hear 'Duck' being used more often here than I have heard used in Sheffield.
  12. The term of endearment here in Chesterfield is 'Duck.' Found it a bit strange when I moved here from Sheffield several years ago.
  13. I work for the emergency services and I can assure you that this app has saved the lives of people who have no idea where they are. The words are all fairly short and easy to understand. Even us 'Emergency Service People' can spell them.
  14. I am currently reading 'Unnatural Causes' written by a forensic pathologist called Dr Richard Shepherd. Not my usual kind of book but I am enjoying it.
  15. I can well imagine. Sorry I wasn't intimating that it only happens in A&E. My friend worked for years as a carer in a residential care home and she was assaulted quite a few times.
  16. Totally agree Padders. It was an awful thing to witness.
  17. I know. They deserve medals, they really do Pattricia! It's not a job that I could do. Actually I couldn't do it anyway as I hate the sight of blood.
  18. I've used A&E once as an adult. I collapsed on a Friday afternoon and was taken to The Northern General via ambulance. This was 3 years ago. I also witnessed relatives bring in takeaway food for patients. I saw a nurse being punched by a female patient and security and the police attended promptly to deal with her. She was vile! I felt so sorry for the staff working there. I was discharged at about 1 am I think. It was an eye opener for me and I'm not naive. The doctor and nurses were amazing in horrible conditions. By the way I had not been drinking or taking drugs, just so you know lol.
  19. There is a weather warning in place for thunderstorms today starting at 3pm. Fingers crossed. I love thunderstorms!
  20. I agree. No responsible dog owner would let their dog kill a kitten. I am a dog owner.
  21. That's lovely! Bless her, hope she enjoyed it.
  22. I was just reading that. It says that the airline may pursue a civil case against her to get the money. If she doesn't have the money (like me but I luckily don't tend to do that on airplanes) what can they do. The police are still investigating apparently.
  23. Well I won't call you picky. My other half talks about conspiracy theories quite a bit. Even in the face of clear evidence.
  24. I totally agree. Glad it will never be my decision to make.
  25. I suppose it is a last resort after intercepting the aircraft and non compliance of said aircraft.
