  1. Good three points for Wednesday in a six pointer, much needed.
  2. Great win, still look a bit shake at the back at times but we were good value for that win. UTB!
  3. Should have lost that, completely out fought for 95 minutes. When we scored to go 2-1 up I just laughed as a win for us would have been thoroughly undeserved, but to concede in the 92nd was still gutting, regardless of how deserved it was. On we go to Brentford...
  4. Maybe, they're pretty good at home. I'd still fancy us to beat them, but nothing would really surprise me. I think they'll struggle to get anything from either of us at our own places though.
  5. You'll probably hammer Derby and lose to Bolton knowing this league.
  6. Imagine the scenes if there was actually a winner!
  7. Oh no, I said squad. Even at full strength, which never seems to happen due to 'injuries', it's still a mid table squad at best.
  8. Shocking isn't it how poor the Wednesday squad is now, after all the money spent.
  9. Definitely, but you could say the same for half the teams in the league!
  10. Maybe, but I've no idea who the 'cream' is going to be this season. Right now you'd say Villa and West Brom, but just when teams seem to be coming good, they have a slump.
  11. Sir Alex came across like that a lot of the time, Wilder is a serial winner, and I'll take him rubbing fans up the wrong way at times if it means we continue to be good at football.
  12. Surely if we got 'found out' last season, we wouldn't have been unfound out this season, and the finding out would have continued into this season? It's not like we play any differently from last season. I even heard the m word used to describe our form the other day...
  13. Pukki scored the winner. But I can see how you'd think the equaliser was the winner
  14. Well, there's a fee you have to pay to the club, as well as wages. We signed James Wilson from Man Utd in January last season for a fee not too far away from that. We currently have Woodburn who we'll probably be paying penalty fees to Liverpool for not playing him. He'll be going back in January. I didn't think we had the power to sign someone Like Oliver Norwood, and he's a loan to buy! I'm pretty certain we'll make one or two loan signings in January, let's just hope they're quality players at this level, unlike Wilson and Woodburn.
  15. A loan that would cost a million or so in wages could be seen as a worthwhile risk if we're up there in January. The potential for a permanent signing if we go up would entice the player and the club loaning him out, and if we don't, he goes back to his club who can then sell to a club with more money than us. I don't even know if there's a 'Mitrovic type player' available at this moment in time anyway. But the loan market is the only way a club with our lack of financial power could get a top quality striker in.
  16. There will be funds. The situation was more or less the same in the summer, and we signed quite a few players, even before Brooks was sold. There just won't be much. Our best bet will be signing a striker on loan from a Premier League club, because we won't be spending millions on a proven permanent signing.
  17. We need to pull a Mitrovic type signing from somewhere. We could still challenge for the top six with our current squad, but we'd be foolish to risk it. A striker in January really is a must.
  18. Damn, well and truly beaten here! Top quality debate, only on sheffieldforum.co.uk
  19. Yes, of course it is, but some of the best defensive displays I've seen have been by some of the most limited players. Hence my opinion that you're the worst I've seen this season. This Wednesday fan gets it spot on: “Shows how far the bar has fallen. Ok, a draw away in a derby is a decent result, but to be fair we’ve been hammered in all but result, while accepting results obviously important wasn’t great. I’ve watched my team play 9 in defence, spending most of the game in our own 18 yard box, hardly venturing into the opposition half, never mind carrying a genuine goal threat” Some of the worst sides can get results when they put everyone behind the ball.
  20. You defended very well, and deserved the point, but you played like a side who knew they were vastly inferior. Like I said before, like a lower league side playing for a replay in a cup game. I know you're both defending your club because they're your club, and I respect that, I really do. But, the football...
  21. Immensely defensive! In my opinion you're a poor side. Every home game with the exception of Villa, so maybe they were worse if it makes you feel better. We're stronger than last year
  22. Every team I've seen us play at home this season has offered an attacking threat. I think that was probably a one off type performance by Wednesday, but I don't see you picking up too many points with that set of players.
