  1. Just popping out of hiding to say how sad that PT has gone. We talked many times on forum but it was only recently we met in the real world.
  2. You might not "buy it" but others with serious mental problems do. Just because your mental problems are a certain type doesn't mean eveyone else's are. "I had depression and I got over so why can't everyone else?" does not take into account the various degrees of it.
  3. Yeah, but would said drinkers over a certain age be willing to pay the current prices for it or would we hear the familiar Yorkshire cry of "Owww much?"
  4. We go to Whitby every year and to be honest fish and chips there has always been eye watteringly expensive....it's a tourist place (plaice).
  5. So was he shagging her before he got her a job in the Department of Health? Seeing as she supposedly already has two full time jobs elsewhere it seems he managed to wrangle her a nice taxpayer funded role just so she could be on hand for office nookie.
  6. One of the highlights of the year when they start nesting again...lets hope for an uneventful and happy outcome this year
  7. I wouldn't have thought a eulogy from the Salisbury Poisoner was any great achievement...he was popular amongst Tsarist Russians because he was part of their Royal family. The Bolsheviks should have done a more thorough job.
  8. And you will have cut off your nose to spite your face...Labour may have lost their core values but you'd be happy with Tory values instead. A plague on both their houses.
  9. I don't recall being asked if I minded paying for a renewal of Trident either, or for a new media centre from which to peddle lies that cost the equivalent of 77 nurses annual salaries. The argument that we are a destitute country that can't afford to properly fund pensions, civic society, social care, NHS etc etc is a false one. We are the 5th/6th wealthiest country on the planet.....it's all about the choices the government make.
  10. "Let them eat claps" I'm sure all those virtue signalling Tory voters who stood outside clapping the NHS staff won't see the irony. Meanwhile let's all dig deep to refurnish No.10
  11. No charities are great, I personally support a number of them. I'm just wary of a Government that will go out of its way to prop up, with taxpayer funds, a specific charity that was losing money hand over fist and for which they had recieved numerous warnings about.
  12. Update. Found to be not guilty of a range of allegations. It still doesn't explain the desire of Cameron and his chums to just keep throwing money at them all the time even when warned it was going into a black hole.
  13. There were fires on Glossop moors just last week...gamekeepers.
  14. Oh no...whatever will I do with the kilo of vodka and beetroot cured salmon I've made......looks like we'll have to have it all to ourselves. Oh the humanity!
  15. It's a shower isn't it? Press conference expected at 4 but a few weeks ago it kept getting delayed. My OH will go ballistic if Strictly is delayed😄 Maybe they should just do like Escape from New York and not let anyone in or out of London. They are now speculating that people leaving London could be spreading the new variant around. Some sort of Berlin wall type structure, Trump should have plenty of unused bricks to sell us.
  16. Me and Rivelin6 always spend Christams day on our own anyway so no change this year. We did used to pop to the pub but then it started to get too popular and crowded so we stopped bothering. So...get up, bit of breakfast and some coffee. Open any presents we might have (although we've told each other we aren't buying this year), clear wrapping paper away. I might treat myself to a bacon butty for lunch. 3ish....maybe start on the snowballs or sherry 4ish...I start cooking, at the moment it looks like beetroot tarte tattin with roast sweet potato chips. 6ish...maybe some smoked salmon and a glass of bubbly 6.30ish...eat tea 7ish..."Is there anything to watch tonight?"......."No" 8ish.....Rivelin6 goes to bed and I watch a repeat of Misummer Murders with a Laphroaig or two. 10ish...bed
  17. Wow, you praise Boris because you support Brexit, yet Boris voted 3 times against May's Brexit deal. We could have had Brexit ages ago apart from Boris and his chums wanting power rather an a deal.
  18. Brand new hotel set to open in 2023 overlooking the Peace Gardens. I hope it will be sympathetic to the surrounding historical buildings. From the artist's impression it look OK
  19. And that will get worse under Brexit with your beloved Tories still in charge. It wasn't the EU who decided on years of austerity, it was your precious Brexiters like Rees Mogg, Johnson, Gove et al.
  20. Really? I use shin a lot, that and cheek are my go to cuts for long....long...cooking and shin is usually one of the cheapest cuts available.
  21. I remember going to Whitby a few years ago and getting a couple from Fortunes. They were dirt cheap and I took them back to the self catering place we were staying and put them in an empty flower vase, poured boiling water on them, left them for about 5 minutes then ate them. Apologies to the people who stayed there for the next 6 months.
  22. To be honest I've just not been bothered with SF for ages. I used to post every day on a wide range of subjects but lately I only log on as an afterthought. Salmon and smoked mackeral macaroni tonight by the way. With a cream sauce and fennel seed and grated sourdough topping.
  23. Sainsbury has massive tins of it in their ethnic section.
