  1. Been to the vets and they think he has a virus, given him an antibiotic injection and some anti-inflamatries. He came home and seemed to have perked up (bit like a kid when they are ill until you get them in the doctors surgery!) Laid on the rug for a bit before taking himself up to bed, have to keep an eye on him and take him back in 5 days, or before if no improvement. Will keep you posted, gosh don't they worry us !!
  2. Got him in the vets tomorrow at half 5. Thought he perked up a bit this morning but was short lived..still eating and using litter tray but just not himself. So slow and irritable just hoping its nothing serious. Will keep you posted
  3. I hope so, and everyone seems to be saying that. My partner usually works long hours and since coming out of hospital as spent 2 weeks basically housebound! It's been strange for us so I'm guessing it's even worse for the cats when they are used to having house to themselves all week ha ha
  4. Thank you everyone, I'm trying to get him in the vets either tomorrow or Tuesday, he's due his boosters anyway. I hate it when he's like this he's usually sat on my knee all weekend. We've had stressful few weeks here with my partner been in hospital etc, so I'm wondering whether it's just the whole change in routine, these 2 are such creatures of habit
  5. He is eating and going to the toilet normally (he goes outside for hours usually and still uses the litter tray when he comes back!) Like I say, he seems to be just really off colour, he's never liked his legs touching and I thought earlier his left leg might be hurt but I touched the right one and he hissed at me, but like I say he's never really liked having them touched. Very confused, I hate him been like this. He seems depressed but I don't know why, there is a possibility he has been fighting with another cat as we seem to have loads that visit us... but he has no visible signs??
  6. He's been off colour for the past few days, not wanting to go out or going out just for a few minutes then straight back in. He is still eating. Just sleeping all day, not coming downstairs much, irritable with the other cat (more than usual!) and just generally not himself. Really worried about him and I have got him in at the vets but just wondered if anyone can put my mind at ease?? He's just spending all day on the bed or at the top of the stairs on his blanket poor thing. Is he just under the weather? Is this normal? Or do I need to worry?
  7. Think it was definately an escaped one as it looked like it had a yellow tag thing round it's leg. Poor thing
  8. Did anyone else see it on the grass verge last night about 6.10? I was shocked as thought it was a huge crow at first! It flew into the road and stopped traffic at one point. Not sure what bird it was though!
  9. We did DQP in September and had our Ofsted registration visit TODAY!!
  10. bush16.. it says on the first website that number 40 buses are suspended!
  11. We wouldn't be without him and his silly little ways, even if they do include waking up at 3am just to be fussed
  12. I'm not worried really.. just wondered if anyone knows why he does it!? My cat, he's just over 1 year old and half Bengal. He's gorgeous but very anal, has little routines he does at funny times (he circles us 4 times when we get into bed, and won't give in until he's done it those 4 times!) Anyway last Christmas I noticed he was gagging at the sight, smell and sound of wrappers, like Roses and Quality Street wrappers! He does it, too, with normal tin foil screwed into a ball, which my other cat loves. He does it with other food wrappers too. Do we just have a little weirdo? We do think he has some kind of special needs, and so does the vet but nothing serious!
  13. No he doesn't have full feathers even now so if you found him you'd know it was him lol. He's only a littlie too
  14. No I don't think he did. He is very shy so don't know how he'd cope in the elements or with anything. He was rescued from a house where he was very stressed, hence having no feathers apart from his head and wings/tail.
  15. Thanks sheff290, it's been a week now and everyone is missing him!
  16. Posting this on behalf of a friend who's poor little birdie flew through the window last Sunday 22nd August. He is a rescued, not hand tamed, rosella with red head, blue wings and tail and no other feathers - went missing in Lodge Moor area last Sunday - makes barking dog noise and 'smoke alarm' type noise. He is called Richard. Please keep an eye out and contact me on here if you see him. Thank you
  17. They had them for a quid in Tesco not long ago, got a set myself but think I'd rather use clippers!
  18. Was born and lived on Boundary Road until 1990
  19. I just wondered what the demand was like for childminders in Stannington? Anyone know any round there?
  20. I know... and why is it always 3am?? My partner is convinced it's because it's the witching hour!!
  21. vwkittie... I have a male cat who wakes us up without fail at around 3am! He's 10 months old and we have Mardy who is just over 12 months. Both are neutered. I don't want to shut them out of the bedroom because they love it in there so any tips on how to get him to stay asleep! Love him to bits but his constant early morning calls are killing us lol! He comes in and climbs on, mostly me, and does this thing with his head that means he wants stroking and playing with, which is cute, but like I say, getting annoying!!
  22. We went to London on Monday for the day, by train. Cost us £50 return for both of us, so £25 each which we thought was ok. When we first booked, about 2 weeks in advance, we could only find tickets for abut £81 each! But after changing the times we wanted to go, got it down to final, as above. It seems that the price all depends on the times you go. We travelled at 11:25am and then back at 10:25pm which was great as we got all day in London then a few drinks at night before we left. A good day! But I hate the tube!!
  23. I've had them before from worldwidebutterflies.com Also, Costco sell a set, with pop up 'home' etc. You just send for your caterpillars (in with the price of kit) and they come in a little jar with food in the bottom etc, all very interesting. We released my niece and nephews jus last week, brilliant!! Failing that, just find one in the garden, few twigs and leaves in a tank and let it grow. They usually crawl to the top of the tank though when they're ready to coccoon, we've used a muslim cloth just to cover it before and it worked perfectly!! If you need any more info, just message me
  24. Rachel.. I had a feeling it was yours and would have posted had you not already. Hope you and the kids are ok ..
