  1. Spot on mate, spot on!!!!!! Chloé *praying this quote works*
  2. Thanks to all who replied. Someone told me to put perfume on it but I think it will sting and I'm not going to risk it, lol. I'm going to try that one that Moon Maiden said though. My mum keeps saying it's "because you're run down" but I feel fine so it can't be that. I'm never ill so I guess that if I do get any ailments this is how it comes out - gastly coldsores! Cheers everyone! Chloé
  3. I suffer with cold sores and get at least 1 a month. Has anyone got any remedies or treatments that they could recommend?? I'm desperate as I've tried stuff from the chemist but to no avail. Any help appreciated. Chloé
  4. I live literally on the doorstep of Manor Castle ruins and all my family grew up around here. My mum used to go the church you're talking about a lot... it was called Manor Methodist Church at one point, and it was just across the road from the Manor Castle ruins, my mum knows the spot. If you get intouch I'll try my very best to help you out. Chloé
  5. Often wonder whether the Manor Castle ruins are haunted. Apparently, the Manor Castle pub just round the corner is haunted, can't say that I've ever heard of anything happening there though.
  6. Have to agree with you crimbo. You sound like me mam!! She always says what it was like living "darnt 'cliffe." I always here the same story... we didn't have hot water bottles, we had a brick in the oven, we didn't have gloves, we had socks on our hands, we never had shoes, we always wore jelly beans!! Chloé
  7. No, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. I lived on the Wybourn for the first 6 years of my life before moving to Manor Park. Thinkin' about it... I haven't done well have I??!! Chloé
  8. Oh be fair!! The majority of people who live on the Manor Park are old people, live on their own etc etc. Another thing that gets on my nerves is when people tar us all with the same brush... fair enough, there are some right losers round here, but not all of us are like that. When I tell people I live on the Manor Park... "oh take it you went to the hell hole of a school, Waltheof?" NOOOO I didn't, I went to All Saints. And I got loads of bother off my friends who live round here, all about going to a bible bashing school bla bla bla. Tell you this, it wasn't long before they were all knocking on All Saints door!! Back to the subject... I hate living round here, not because of the things that happen, not because of the people, but because it's boring. There's nothing to do. No community centres for people of my age (18) or anything. No wonder they're pinching cars and getting into trouble... they're bored. Chloé
  9. Yeah but we're all lovely people on the Manor Park!! When I go to work and what have yer, people always comment on how broad my accent is, but I like it. I just hate the way people seem to pull the Manor down all the time, it really isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Chloé
  10. Why did you use MANOR as an example. As a Manor lass born and bred I get sick to death of people using Manor as a prime example for things. Only the other night I was watching that Cop Show, and things like "The Manor, the most notorious part of Sheffield..." It makes me teeth itch!! LOL. Saying that, it makes me feel quite special when people say I have a great Manor accent. The only accent I find abasolutely amazing is Canadian, I love it! Chloé
  11. I know which one you're on about. We go there a lot. It's run by Granelli's if I remember rightly. "Hey, let's stop... here's a REAL sweetie shop!" is the new slogan on the front although the old one used to be "Old fashioned spice at an old fashioned price!" My mum loves that shop!! Chloé
  12. Mike Blaisdell - without a doubt. Steelers coach who took us to a Grand Slam and is more than half way there this season!!
  13. The Pitz Soccer Stadium on Woodburn Road near Attercliffe. We've had 2 parties there in 3 months. You pay a £50 deposit but you get it back if there's no damage etc. So, really it's free. Decent size too. Chloé
  14. I went to All Saints on Granville Road. Left in 2001! Now go to Castle College. Chloé
  15. What also gets right up my nose.... how many times have you seen Steelers advertised on TV?? Not often, and it just so happens that if there is any advertising, it's negative!! For example, we had an incident with Nottingham last season, so called Black Friday, where all hell broke out (may I add this is an extreme rarity!) and every day for about a week, it was on Calendar. If I was someone thinking about coming to watch a Steelers game and I saw that, I know for a fact I wouldn't want to go, especially if I had children!! It never mentions the fact that the Steelers have won 2 trophies already, and have going on 3000 fans going to greet them back home every time they win a trophy!! Radio Sheffield have Seth Bennett commentating a few of our games and he does a great job, but it's not enough! We need new fans! Just give it a try!! Chloé
  16. Think it's called Solar, you can't miss it. It's like a light green I think. Both 93 and 25 buses drop you off outside it. I got a price list somewhere, but can't for the life of me find it. Chloe
  17. Manor Park Centre shops has a new nail bar. I know the woman who owns it and she's a pro, very good. My neighbour has hers done there a lot. It's pretty cheap I think. Give it a try. It's right at the bottom of the shops, where the Indian used to be. If you live at Stradbroke you'll know where I mean. Chloé
  18. I'd rather pay £12/£8/£6 to watch Steelers who are actually going somewhere than £20 to watch a football match where the teams aren't going anywhere or winning anything. Go to Steelers you get a seat, warmth, a great atmosphere and no hooliganism! Go to a United/Wednesday match for is it £20?? And what do you get? A seat out in the open 'fresh air' of Sheffield, a cold, hooliganism. Fair enough, I'm not saying that all football matches have trouble but look at the one where that young Emma Barker got hit in the face with a flare. The Steelers have a much better family atmosphere, and it's cheaper!! I know where I'd rather go... Chloé
  19. My aunty Jean Goodwin, went to Waltheof and left in 64 I think. She's registered on Friends Reunited. You know her??
  20. I feel I have to write on this. I'm an ice hockey fan. I go to every home game of the Sheffield Steelers and lots of away ones too. We've just won 2 trophies, the Challenge Cup and then the League Championship. We're now going for the Play Offs, which if we win means another Grand Slam! I still can't understand why when the Steelers play at home, we can't pull in the big crowds we used to have in the "old days!" I suppose I'm on here just to say that you don't know what you're missing!! We've got the best ice hockey team in the Superleague right on our doorstep and yet we only see the same faces week in week out!! We've got offers on at the minute, Quid a Kid with groups of more than 10 kids. All you have to do is get intouch with the Hallam FM Arena. What other team gets 2000 fans greeting them back 'home' at midnight in the freezing cold weather when they win a trophy? Deffinately not football!! Come on, give it a try!! People seem to think it's Fighting on Ice, it's not. Come along and see what you think... I can guarantee you'll be hooked. Sorry to rant!! Chloé
