  1. Hi everyone, I was hoping you could help me out. As part of my PhD at the University of Texas at Austin I’m hoping to interview punks from Northern English towns and cities in the 1970s and 1980s. I’m especially interested in hearing from minority groups and people from working-class backgrounds, though not exclusively. The project has a particular focus on gender and race in the context of industrial decline as well as the shifting socio-political climate of the 1970s and 1980s. As such, I’d like to hear from anti-racist and anti-sexist campaigners, as well as your experiences with racism and sexism more generally. Oral testimonies will be carried out at the participant’s convenience and can be included in the project under a pseudonym. For more information about the project, please email me at [email protected] and please pass this along to anyone you think might be interested in participating. Thanks in advance!
  2. Ah yeah, I saw them too, would be great to have some of their material.
  3. Tony Beesley's book is great, anyone know somebody who was interviewed for it? There seem to be some really interesting characters in there.
  4. I think it's more that the Europa league very rarely has that competitive feel to it. Main exception was when Fulham got to the final a few years back.
  5. Which places have stuff going on for free?
  6. Hello, I’m a postgrad student at the University of Sheffield and I’m currently doing some research into punk in Sheffield during the late 1970s and 1980s. More specifically I’m looking into how being a punk affected people on a daily basis and I’d be really interested in conducting some interviews about what life was like being a punk in Sheffield during this time. Ideally I’d like to set up interviews within the next couple of weeks, so whether you (or somebody you know) would be willing to do an interview or just give me some kind of testimony via email then it would be great to hear about your experiences! I'd particularly like to hear from people who identified themselves as punks but if you weren't and still have any memories of the music or people then please do get in touch. Please feel free to PM me with any questions and I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks! Eddie
