  1. As I now rarely use Twitter as an information source, I'll take your word for what it is used for. I don't know what you mean about 'infoboards', but some of the 'live times' displays, especially the new ones on Furnival Gate are useless anyway, you can't read them. Storing them there is poor security anyway. Even if they get a picture, they've got to find him/her.
  2. It doesn't change anything, true - but the fact that they store half a million pounds worth of equipment which can be stolen in the open, with poor security, is a little worrying?
  3. Neither would I, but if you actually log in to view the full story, the question is asked - but avoided. Typical TSY behaviour though.
  4. 'Due to vehicle issues' - they can sometimes be hilarious - or downright economical with the truth. They don't give any details, and when they were asked if it was due to theft of the vehicle, which it was, they don't give a reply - not that we should expect anything less though, should we?
  5. Fair enough - but storing half a mill of equipment in unguarded premises overnight seems odd - to say the least.
  6. I was talking about the timetable for the services, which is from 0700-1900. The auxiliary equipment will only be in use when needed, and, although I am not certain, I suspect they will not run from the motive power batteries.
  7. Fair enough, but I wonder why they couldn't provision the kit properly - or was it another SYMCA lash-up?
  8. Who says? And in any case, it would have to towed back to Pond street - BY A DIESEL recovery wagon.
  9. Yea, I know you are an exile 😄, but the point still stands - it ain't their money that gets to pay the insurance premium hike.
  10. That won't worry Coppard & co - they'll just up your Council tax to cover it.
  11. The charge time I saw - on the official ADL spec sheet was 3.1/2 hours , but maybe that was using different charging kit? - I don't know, as just a very interested party, I can only go on publicly available data. I would have thought SYMCA (as the owners of the vehicles) would have made suitable provision for the secure overnight storage of these expensive vehicles - but accept we are talking about a dysfunctional organisation, so maybe I am expecting the impossible?
  12. Considering the times the EVs are used in service, and the claimed recharge time, it should be possible to charge them and send them to secure(ish) storage overnight? Tracking - wonder if anyone has thought of reporting this 'oversight'?
  13. I thought they were supposed to be stored overnight at the SPCT depot in Brightside? If they are stored at Pond Street that is a bad idea and whoever made the decision needs to rethink. The 'replacement' question was a tad rhetorical really - they obviously need 4 vehicles to run the service. 😉 No tracking? - that is naughty, as you point out.
  14. That is scary - when and how was it stolen? Wonder what it will be substituted with whilst it goes back to ADL?
  15. Agreed - the cost of my postage would be in addition to the £10 -I forgot to add that bit in. Agree with your second point, also.
  16. If that happened to me, @peak4, I would send him or his agent an invoice for £10, along with a strong message that he had lost any support I may have had for him, or his party.
  17. I agree with you. Personally - possibly because I'm old and grumpy 😄 - I fail to see the need to 'modernise' everything.
  18. I think you will find quite a large number of the First and Stagecoach fleets are also fitted with USB chargers - although I've yet to see anyone using them.
  19. Yep, lots more red+white barriers, but at least they do seem to be getting on with paving/curbing.
  20. ALL my bus journeys are free - ENCTS. I'm not moaning, either, just pointing out the buggy 'journalism' .
  21. 'The Star's' (incorrect ) information about the SC1/SC2 bus services: https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/sheffield-connect-bus-took-both-sheffields-new-shuttle-buses-around-town-quiet-green-free-4584474 It doesn't start at Cumberland Street!!!
