  1. I hadn't heard that but it would certainly explain a lot Ian
  2. Wow they must have put it up then! Maybe someone did offer to buy it! I envy you having tried it. I have only tried a couple of their 'extreme' beers and, whilst I did enjoy Tactical Nuclear Penguin, I baulk at paying £5 a shot for it. Especially when Paradox and Tokyo are almost as good for a fraction of the price.
  3. Wow that's quite extreme, even for craft beer. But wouldn't put it past Brewdog to stock it. After all most of their bars hold a bottle of End of History - their once record breaking 55% beer bottled inside roadkill: http://www.brewdog.com/blog-article/341 But they won't sell it at any price - allegedly! I believe the Sheffield Tap has their bottle nominally marked up at £1999 if anyone feels like testing this.
  4. Going to disagree with this. I really like the Rutland and they do tend to stock some really good beer which is on a level above the average real ale (and often above 6% too). Went in the Closed Shop at was actually mildly disappointed with their range. I know it's more of a 'local' but see no reason why this means they have to stock standard fare. You can get that anywhere and, if you're oppostite a Thornbridge pub, can probably afford to be a little more adventurous.
  5. Went in here last weekend and thought the place had a 'half finished' feel to it. Ended up sitting outside in fact as it was a nice day. But anywhere that does decent beer is a welcome addition.
  6. Well Jonny, looks like me and you in the place anyway. I'm looking forward to it and not having to go yo Leeds for such things as the Alesmith tasting night on Monday. At the moment there is really nowhere else in Sheffield that offers anything like that. So any addition is good surely? After all I read that the Tap are now applying for a licence in Leeds. With other quality beer bars they already have there Leeds is in danger if becoming a better night out than Sheffield. And none of us want that do we?
  7. I've been to most of em. I dont really go to Brewdog for a few pints. I go for something special on a run around town. The location fits perfectly between the pint swigging Dev Green area and Dada so will get a regular call from me. If it goes ahead.
  8. Brewdog bars are always a little on the small side. But the addition to Sheffields craft beer scene will be welcome. Might force the Tap to get their act back in order.
