Not quite the above.. I was at Sheffield station about a week after two terrorists attacks in London. As I was just about to come down the steps to the foyer ,it was 10 am or so there was a blood curdling scream from somewhere,out of sight. It was the only sound and people below seemed stock still. I remember thinking ,am I going to do something, and decided yes I was going intervene to whatever it was . Thankfully it was not an armed attacker but a child whos hand had been dragged inside the lift door mechanism which I managed to shoulder barge to free him. Certainly got my heart pumping.

Knocking students is such a regressive thing. What would Sheffield be with out the Universitys,Rotherham. The University has a bigger budget than the council. Apart from 3 London Universitys the students here put more money into the economy than any other UK city, this was a couple of years back but I dare say is still broadly true
