    Totley Brook aka "The Compound"
  1. It was John Francis with the diving header in the last minute to win it. Incidentally, Paul Wood was playing (and scored) for Brighton that day - we signed him later in the season...
  2. The 17 to Totley Brook became the 42 for a while following de-regulation,and also the 97A before becoming the 98.
  3. I've just driven along the road I live on (Totley Brook Road) and before you scoff, and say that the roads in S17 are paved with gold, this one isn't. It's appalling. Half way down it are 2 bloody great potholes the size of Hope Valley, and the rest of the road is patched up to hell. I'm due to put the car in for its MOT and already I can hear the sound of my shock absorber saying it's knackered, thanks to not only driving on this road, but what must the worst kept roads in Western Europe. Even the roads on most small Greek Islands are better kept than the main arterial road system of one of the UK's biggest cities. And frankly, its a disgrace. So where's the £2 Billion promised on fixing our city streets being spent?
  4. You might want to read this, which sheds some light on the situation. http://www.sufc.co.uk/news/article/20130305-warning-to-shareholders-216796.aspx
  5. And what's more,it were'nt a proper game o' togger unless you played wi' a Casey....
  6. Good Afternoon All? Just wondering if anybody who's on Orange Broadband via the Beauchief exchange is suffering an outage? It's just that my ADSL line has been out since around 1630 yesterday, and up to now has not come back. Before you ask,I've checked the line, used 3 different routers, which all came up no ADSL, a new ADSL lead,2 new filters (straight out of the box) and still jack...I'm having to make do with a mobile broadband dongle or lashing it via Bluetooth on my Iphone, which is costing an arm and leg. Anybody in the know?
  7. It's affecting my phone line up in Totley Brook - which is served by the Beauchief exchange. However,my broadband's absolutely fine.
  8. Love "Animal" and the cover of "Release Me" by Stumpus Maximus and the Good Ole Boys...
  9. Sign him...he's awful. Me and the lads used to call him Bombscare when he was at the Lane.In fact,we've got 2 other lads you might be interested as well who can play at the back.
  10. Agreed with Sheffield Trophy Centre...Pat Unwin's a lovely bloke and will see you right!

  12. Uniform wise, try Pinders in Crystal Peaks Market. They do the Athelstan Uniform,as well as other little bits you might find useful. Have just found this out for you as well..http://www.athelstanprimary.co.uk/index.php
  13. My eldest nephew went there (he's nearly 12),and my youngest nephew (nearly 9) is currently there, and both are well adjusted kids who can't speak highly enough of Athelstan. If you're concerned, have a read of this.. and you'll see that you've got nothing to be worried about. http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/oxedu_reports/display/%28id%29/125310
  14. I used to work there too! Still miss the old place...and can still the distant echo of Born To Hand Jive when I walk past what is now Pizza Express..
  15. Brilliant... Love the scene when they come in from the Day at the Races...and Jean tells them to keep quiet.. Sheffield's own Rita May,of course..and then there's the bit where she sings "Angels" at Mel's birthday... To the regiment...I wish I was there!
