Hi, I am looking for somewhere to hold a small gathering following my daughters christening. I was hoping to find somewhere where we could have afternoon tea that was child friendly (a few toddlers will be there) so a garden or park adjoining would be great. I haven't lived in Sheffield that long so grateful for any recommendations. S6/S10 would be preferred. I will be inviting somewhere in the region of 20-30. Thanks for any replies in advance

Hi, I think there's a homeschooling playgroup on a Thursday- not 100% certain though- maybe someone on here can help? It's in the Eccleshall area as far as I remember- I'm sure I saw it on netmums- it might be worth having a look on there. Also there's a lovely baby/toddler group on a Friday morning at Sheffield small school, they also run a nursery for 3-5 year olds- if you google Sheffield Small school you should find it. Hi Tina, I'm organising the mum2mum market sales here in Sheffield, the Hillsborough sale last month was our first in Sheffield, although they have been succesfully running all over the country in other locations for some time. All sellers at the Hillsborough sale filled out an anonymous feedback form and I had no complaints- they all made money on top of what they paid for the stall and even though the weather was pretty dreadful and it was the first sale we had plenty of buyers through the door most leaving with bagfuls of stuff and some even leaving and coming back in a couple of times. There was a lot of unsold stuff at the end but the sellers that sold the most stuff seemed to be the ones who didn't overfill their tables to start with so that buyers had a clear view of what was for sale. As for entrance fees: orchid72 correctly said it is free entrance in the last half an hour of the sale or you can print off a 2 for 1 voucher on the website if you bring a friend and at this sale I will have 2 for 1 vouchers on the door for those arriving who may not have had chance to print off the voucher at home. Some great ideas here already - I'd also say you spend a long time sitting down feeding in the first few weeks so maybe a good book or dvd/s or maybe a voucher for lovefilm or something similar? Lovely idea to do a mum's hamper as well as a baby one as so often people forget about what an amazing job mum has and is doing and I'm sure she will really appreciate it!

Hi Jayne, Thanks for your reply. In spite of the weather we still had over a hundred buyers through the door some queuing half an hour before doors opened!! It was a lovely atmosphere at the sale and I think everybody involved enjoyed themselves and went home with a lighter load and a heavier pocket! There were many happy buyers leaving with bags and bags of bargains some doing multiple trips to the car and back in again! Let me know if I can answer any further questions. There will be further sales at Hillsborough on 15th March and 17th May. I'm also holding sales at the Victoria Centre near Norfolk park on 15th Feb and in April (date to be confirmed). Sam
