Hi,
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in volunteering at High Hopes, an equestrian centre for Riding for the Disabled (RDA) and Special Olympics.
We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable people, who are willing to commit a certain amount of time per month to our stables in Thorpe Hesley. It doesn't matter if you can only offer one Saturday a month, a couple of hours every Thursday afternoon or a few weeknight evenings, any time is appreciated as long as it's consistent and we can rely on you to be there.
No experience with horses is necessary, just a willingness to learn and we can teach you the rest. A basic Saturday involves stablework (mucking out, feeding, grooming etc) as well as assisting in lessons (getting our riders mounted, leading the horses where needed, tacking and untacking)- obviously we can take small steps with this at a rate you're comfortable with, so don't worry you won't be thrown in at the deep end unless you want to be!
If anyone is interested or has questions, please get in touch
