  1. I know I never understood that as if you have a tenant that's on benefits you are more than likely guaranteed your rent, as they are going to be paid. If you have someone that is working with how employment is no job is safe, so you might not be guaranteed to get your rent and there are some people who are on long benefits through illness or injury and can never work, so saying no DSS is generalising and banding everyone on benefits together when in reality every person who is claiming has a different personal situation from another claimant it is not one size fits all situation. ---------- Post added 12-04-2013 at 17:46 ---------- Council Associations already deduct the housing benefit, from your benefits before you get them. When private renting the full amount goes to the claimant, so some private landlords might be apprehensive as they might think that person is not going to pay their rent.
  2. That's sad I went there with School, and was just reminiscing the other day about where we went on school trips and found Eden Camp North Yorks, Jorvik Viking Centre York, brilliant, Gainsborough Hall Gainsborough Lincoln Henry The Eighth stayed there, and it's apparently haunted & Mayfield Environmental Children's Centre, also Thorn-Bridge four words very muddy bog trotters lol great times nice memories. I wonder if children today get the chance to visit all these brill places or that is now a thing of the past?? school trips there is probably an app for that instead lol. ---------- Post added 12-04-2013 at 14:31 ---------- I have signed the petition.
  3. I did not know you could still buy that, my nan used to eat that lol I will never forget the smell try a Butchers cannot believe you can still get that hope you find some I thought it was Sheep's stomach??.
  4. This is an issue I feel strongly about, as I feel everybody should a place to live be able to be clean and safe and have food, a toilet and a clean place to sleep, good to see people trying to do good and my name is Emma he he that made me smile hope the charity continues. ---------- Post added 12-04-2013 at 12:32 ---------- I agree makes you grateful for what you have, even if it's little I just rent a little house I don't own, but it's clean dry and warm and I have all the things I need. I have seen programs about woman and men who's marriages have broken down or a loved one died, and they have lost everything and ended up homeless with nothing either addicted to alcohol or drugs just makes me feel so sad good to see someone trying to help people like this who just need a help in hand to get back on their feet and start again.

  8. I did not know they had dropped 10 places is RMC Rotherham Council??.
  9. Ha ha ha ha I heard that as well yes quite..... there are a few in the north but not many lol.
  10. I just thought it was interesting it was in the paper today what shocked me was Sheffield was not on the list. Apparently the worst places are in the north but some of the places o the list are in the south. ---------- Post added 07-04-2013 at 22:26 ---------- Errrrrr not sure as I don't know what constituencies they come under but maybe it is a possibility.
  11. According to The Sunday People today Merthyr Tydfil had the highest rate of under 16's having children. With St Helen's Merseyside next, South Tyneside, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Barnsley, Manchester, Sunderland, Southampton Tameside, Redcar & Cleveland. The ten best places are as follows Blackburn & Darwen, Barnet, Harrow, Powys, Camden, Buckinghamshire. Bedford, Swansea, Brent & Bracknell Forest this is statistics of under age pregnancy per 1,000 people apparently Merthyr is a run down coal mining town apparently the numbers of young people getting pregnant are falling and The Department For Health are trying to slash the number of unwanted pregnancies. Norman Wells head of Family Education Trust has a differing opinion and "say's that he feels Government strategies have failed, and they have to do more". he also added that teenage pregnancy rates still remain sbbornly high".
