Im after a new lens as im off on me hols in a few weeks..Can anyone recommend any local camera shops that are priced decently? I still prefer buying over the counter than over the interwebnet when it comes to glass items

The noise isnt that bad...Its quite loud on friday and saturday nights..which isnt surprising...I think its a great place to live..

Cleaners are good and friendly..Stuff gets repaired pretty quickly..Security is ok..Ive never had any troubles..There was a problem a while back with strangers getting in and hanging about but i think thats been solved by security.

Me too I decided I'm never going to meet anyone and therefore convinced myself I'm better off alone. Come to think of it, I don't think I took all that much convincing!!!

I like the freedom...

Ive yet to reach the 'better off alone' level...Right now ive just accepted that nobody will take me

Its pretty hard....so much is geared toward groups of students...its hard to find anywhere to meet other singles.

Yeah, our site is under construction at the moment. Best thing to do is go around the studios in person with a rough idea of what it is you want and chat to the artists. You'll get a feel for who you want to do the work on you. You will also find that alot of artists have a particular style that they enjoy. For example, Paul (eternal ink) really loves working in bold colours and takes a modern approach to traditional old school styles, Dave (eternal ink) loves black and grey, watershading and does stunning portraiture, Fiona (feline) likes her native american influenced stuff, Stewart (thou art) also loves his old school stuff. All the mentioned artists love doing custom over flash any day. Shop around to find an artist that suits yourstyle.

Im actually looking to get a half sleeve done..incorporating some traditional japanese stuff..a modern approach to that sounds interesting..i might have to pop into eternal..

Baldyshef - I can only speak for the studio I work in, but the flash is there really to bring people into the studio and also to provide inspiration from which to draw from. We very rarely do flash 'as is'. It gives people a starting point and allows us to see the sort of stuff they like. Most reputable artists, including our own, are more than happy to take on custom work as it allows them a little more freedom of expression.

The problem is that all the websites and stuff are filled with tacky photos of bad flash on the lower back of chavs..

Ive been wanting to get my first tattoo for a while but unless i want a tribal or a celtic knot then i seem to be screwed

Do you know of any local shops that have online portfolios? Ive looked at the eternal site but i guess its under construction or summit.

Do any of the tattoo places in sheffield have good custom artists? Everything I see seems to be flash :/ I dunno whether thats cos its all they can do or its all that people want these days..

Well their website allowed me to do it...whereas the dominos site told me i was out of range when i put my postcode in....

It was delivered and the dude didnt seem to have any problems..

PS, as an ex pizza delivery bod, whats the tipping situation here? ive been abroad for a while so i dunno if its normal to tip pizza delivery in shef

Yep...Im near the tescos on weststreet...the confirmation email says its the crookes pizza hut.

Of course now ive said this ill probably get a phone call tellin me they dont actually deliver here

It agree it seems stupid but the reason why has always been traffic. It simply increases delivery times too much to make it profitable.

Theres not much traffic in the evening say after 7.....Everyones gone home...

The only pizzas i can get here are from kebab shops :/

I just cant believe that neither dominos or pizzahut can deliver to west street, toward the uni end :/

Not just that but they were all decent portions as well...Usually in the upmarket places I get some piddly little scraps on the plate..but at your place, every course was more than enough...

Ill be back with the girlfriend soon enough...Sadly ill be poor very soon cos i dont think ill be able to resist that kobe beef.

Amazing food...really liked the atmosphere of the place..Although getting out of the building was tough..Walking down from the restaurant and trying to fight through a packed bar..

The kobe beef was incredible...and the cheese board was great fun...although the blue king richardIII was slightly strong ^^

Loved it all...As did my parents.

I went to study abroad for a year..had such a good time, i stayed another year

had to drag myself back to finish the degree though

im goin back for my 2nd year...but ive been away for 2 years since finishing first year..so its kinda like starting over..
