  1. I used ATB in Darnall http://www.atbtraining.co.uk/ and would recommend them, I have friend that have used them as well. Price wise anything form £600-900 depending on how good you are, how many lessons you need to get to test standard and if you pass first time.
  2. When my bike got stolen from City Road it was recovered in Middlesbrough by Cleveland Police who happened to do a raid on house, searched the garage and found my bike sitting there. I assume it got up there in the back of a van, given the amount of ANPR cameras on the motorways and got sold on up there within the criminal fraternity. I'm not saying it was nicked to order but if it’s a good bike it's likely to be sold on rather than burnt out on some woods in Sheffield
  3. Number 3 would not apply unless the victim has some form of disability???
  4. I second that, I did my training there and they're great, I have freinds and family that have also trained with them as well
  5. Barry at TT Tyres (next to Hawleys) on Holme Lane, Hillsborough, done mine a couple of times including putting right a mess that SMC created.
  6. Barry at TT Tyres (within Hawleys) off Holme Lane at Malin Bridge http://www.hawleystyres.co.uk/tttyres.html Took my bike there this week for a combined MOT and service with oil/filter change, check and greese moving parts and refill fluids. £110 for Honda VFR All good and the bike passed
  7. I'll vouch for Phil, I've used him for years and I once bought a new fob off ebay for about a (£10) and he reprogrammed it for me
  8. Our lass is having a trauma, she has a hair appointment at Hairband on Eccy Road tomorrow, she phoned up today to find out her hairdresser has left and they won’t tell her where she’s moved onto to.
  9. Evening all, looking for advice and recomendations about getting a back gate supplied and fitted possibly including new posts. it'd need to be as wide as a normal gennel to a typical sheffield terreace house from 1890 and about six foot high. not sure what to expect in terms of cost for supplies and fitting?
  10. To all the cries regarding "its the law, they have to be visible" I believe the law was changed sometime in the last 18 months or so. The power was devolved to local authorities and road safety partnerships more felxability to decide if they want their cameras to be visible - yellow boxes or covert such as green/gray boxes or vans. I think NE Derbyshire opted for the latter whilst Sheffield has remained visible
  11. It should not be about "the cheapest" it should be about the best training you can get for your money. I recommend ATB in Darnall http://www.atbtraining.co.uk/
  12. The Milestone at Kelham Island is the best food I have eaten in Sheffeild appart from my own and my late gran's home cooking http://www.the-milestone.co.uk/
  13. I will happily recommend them, competent, friendly, understanding and work hard to build your confidence. They take pride in producing safe riders and not just a rider who passes his/her test. Everyone I know who's been to ATB has nothing but praise for them.
  14. Wasn't that thread deleted because there was nothing to suggest anyone did get stabbed?
  15. I can't tell you were to go but I can tell you were NOT to go! Bespoke Kitchen Designs on Abbydale Road accross from the old cinema. Very poor service, no concept of managing the project of fitting a new kitchen. His plasterers ruined the house including upstairs even though they only had to re-plaster the kitchen. They lost the spare key to the back door and we've yet to get it back. They are also running 3 weeks behind schedule.... Promised us a kitchen at the end of November.... Still waiting for completion!
  16. It was very poor, shame about Richard Hawley not performing due to loosing his voice. Though in hindsight it was probably a good thing the event was so poorly advertised. It probably avoided a couple of thousand people turning up and been disappointed not to see Hawley sing. I agree Ian Auckland's speech was awful....I think he needs to go on a public speak course. Paul Scriven didn't even turn up? If you didn't count the Councillors, contractors and photographers, the crown "in numbers" turned out to be about 30 strong! I agree the Wicker was left out but there's no need for burger vans with all the quality food outlets on the Wicker. We left once Hawley pulled the curtain and went to Marcia's for some Caribbean food and took it home. The area does look great and the Council have done a good job, there's a lot of potential near those new buildings for some nice bars, cafes or restraints next to the river. But all in all it was rubbish
  17. Perhaps if you spoke to the police, the Council or Sheffield Homes something would get done about it? The local SNA Police Team's website is here: http://neighbourhood.southyorks.police.uk/sheffield/woodhouse-mosborough You can even e-mail the Inspector by clicking on his name
  18. ATB Rider Training at Darnall....near enough Rotherham for you? The're a great riding school and by that I mean they teach you to ride a bike and be safe and not just to pass a test! http://www.atbtraining.co.uk/
  19. MMMmmmm there's a lot of advice there with conflicting information? Few more pieces of info for you: I don't have a spare key The fob I do have will open the boot and lock the car but I guess the switch that opens the car and disables the alarm is broken. I can open the car with the key in the door lock but the alarm still goes off.....every time.....and its getting annoying/embarrassing the alarm disabled when I put the key in the ignition and switch the engine on.
  20. Not in the manual mate I'm talking about buying a new remote and programming it to open and close my car. Don't think that's the sort of stuff you can do yourself otherwise everyone would have their car nicked. I imagine it would be a job for a dealer, garage, locksmith or auto electrician. I just want to know if the good people of the forum can recommend somebody and save me some cash
  21. I did a really cleaver thing the other day and washed my car keys complete with electronic key fob attached. Surprisingly fails to work properly even though I have changed the battery. I've seen new or replacement fobs on the Ebay for as little as £4 but they all say they need re-programming. Other than the dealer who are bound to charge a small fortune, does anyone know anywhere/anyone that undertakes this sort of job? How much would/should it cost. That car for your information is a 98 Saab 9-5
  22. Midhope has massive steps with a path/road along the bottom http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&saddr=sheffield&daddr=Midhope+Hall+Ln+%4053.494794,+-1.662902&hl=en&geocode=%3B9350202078445376575,53.494794,-1.662902&mra=ls&sll=53.493739,-1.661639&sspn=0.012153,0.027466&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=11
  23. More info on the Council web site...doesn't look like they are happy with the idea either http://www.forms.sheffield.gov.uk/AF3/an/default.aspx/RenderForm/?F.Name=YVeez18G3LQ
  24. Sorted thanks for your help everyone that replied or sent me a message
