i saw Steve Marshall in 1990 at Rotherham General, i had an accident at Thurcroft pit cutting my wrist ona Corrigated sheet, Brian Cross, what a guy, worked with him and Trevor Dallison in Wathwood seam, my name is Albert Wilkinson, my Dad worked in the Baths, great times, happy memories, ---------- Post added 12-03-2013 at 17:21 ---------- to bustasofa, my name is Albert Wilkinson jnr, my Dad Albert also worked in the Bath House after working on the Stock Yard he used to work down the Pit but due to a fatal accident that nearly took his life he ended up on the surface, i can remember all the people mentioned on this list as if was yesterday, my name is Albert Wilkison, son of Albert Senior, i started at the pit 1974 and finished 1990, i then transferred to Thurcroft, the best job i had, the best mates anyone could ask for, i can remember running around Treeton Village with Kev Lancaster during the night the Coppers came to Treeton during the Miners Strike trying to avoid the grewat Super Trooper (big Search Light to you who don't know what one is) i wish i could turn back time as i would do it all again. ---------- Post added 12-03-2013 at 17:43 ---------- Hi John You Will Rember my Brothers then Dennis and Paul Wilkinson, i'm Albert Jnr, great times i had with the best bunch of lads anyone could ask for, would love to meet up with my mates once again. ---------- Post added 13-03-2013 at 19:32 ---------- Hi WizardofoDD, i worked at Trreton Pit from 1974-1990 the transferred to Thurcroft Pit, i worked with a great bunch of men and lads, such as David Lowe, John Lax, Steve Perkins annd his Dad Dennis and Pretty Polly Perkins, Gary Moore, Jeppo, Nosh & Raz, Trevor Wellington Dallinson, Glynn Buxton Rockley, Phil Rubber Bottle Mathews, Jonnny Rotten, Little Willie, Frank Denton, Joe Dexter, started my Training underground with 2 of the best blokes i will always be proud of ans a pleasure to work with that is Eric Stewart & Joe Edwards, also worked on the same dust supreesion team with Howard Pennington, i can remember the Miners Strike like it was yesterday, the night the coppers came to Treeton Village and me and Kev Lancaster running through the fields trying to avoid the big Super Trooper, (search light to u who don't know what a Super Trooper is) as Cher sang if i could turn back time, would love to meet up with my old work mates, by the way my name is Albert Wilkinson, son of Albert Wilkinson. ---------- Post added 13-03-2013 at 19:46 ---------- is their any ex Treton Miners still alive who would like to meet up again, my name is Albert Wilkinson, i worked at Treeton from 1974-1990, i worked with the best men and lads anyone could wish for, never a dull moment and everyone stuck together, alas the Miners Strike came and it split some of my best mates apart, still can't forgive or forget what they did, i can remember flaming Pit Monster waving his wage slip to us all on picket duty at the top of the lane, if only i had a 14 pound hammer that day, tranmsferred to Thurcroft Colliery in 1990, finished the following year as this pit was going nowhere, even tried a buy out to no avail, now working as a security officer at Meadowhall. ---------- Post added 15-03-2013 at 16:19 ---------- Hi my name is Albert Wilkinson, i'm trying to get in contact with any of my old pit mates especially Dave Lowe, John Lax, Steve Perkins, Kev Lancaster, any of the Magic Roundabout crew who i worked with, i was Dillon for obvios Reasons, i heard Glynn Buxton Rockley is now living in Linconshire somewhere, saw Lacky in Nettos at Parkgate around 2002, i was working as a Retail Security officer, didn't have much time to talk, also saw Dave lowe a couple of years after in Rotherham, didn't recognise him at first as people change feature wise, would love to meet up and talk about the good old days, some people want to move on and forget the past, i don't mind that but its been a long time since i saw any of my old friends and would love to meet them and catch up with what their doing now.
  2. i too worked at Treeton, 1974-1990, worked with a great bunch of lads, David Rose, John Lax, Steve Perkins, Howard Pennington, Terry Hilton and his brothers, Matt and Dougie Thompson, Mousey, Allan Stool on Head, the Magic Roundabout who i was part of the team as Dillon for obvious reasons! my Dad worked underground until an accident took hom too working on the stock yard r=then in the Bath House, all of the Wiulkinson Brothers worked at Treeton Pete, Dennis, Paul and kast but not least the best Albert, please get in touch as it would be great to meet up and talk about old times especially the Miners Srike of 84-85.
