  1. Have you sent off your postal vote yet, many already have. They know who to vote for. In my area, more than 37% have sent off their postal votes. Have you had a nice man/lady knock on your door and ask for your vote, or maybe you have just had a leaflet? Do you have a notice on your door - no cold callers or no junk mail?
  2. It is usually corupt in favour of the wealthy, but not this time.
  3. I help to look after a 96 year old, lives alone in his own home, he will most likely die with a net worth of £300k, if not there will be some unhappy children.
  4. I know someone that was called a paedo on Facebook, will he get £90k too?
  5. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-68899382 Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein's 2020 rape conviction in New York has been overturned, on the basis that he did not receive a fair trial. It seems that they were out to get him, times are changing. Seems like a fairly basic legal thing, not to call witnesses whose accusations were not part of the charges against him.
  6. They need support to start with, but if our benefits system works properly then they will be working and paying tax within a short time.
  7. I will stop saying that in 5 years when I get my pension!
  8. In my local town we had Patriotic Alternative promoting themselves. Counterterrorism experts reported that extremist far-right groups including Patriotic Alternative were using YouTube to try to recruit people, including children "as young as 12"
  9. My Dad had an operation to remove one leg in his last few years of life. He needed very little care, most done by Sons and Daughter. Of the family of my Dad, out of 7 only two needed full time care. I know of some that have transfered ownership of their house, to their children. I dont believe there will be any come back, if done 10+ before their death. Money is much easier to give away
  10. I was listening to a UK army doctor speaking on radio four, he is not aware of any Hamas personnel in hospitals and nor are the doctors that he has spoken to. The reporting from Israel is just false propoganda.
  11. I have never had a broken hip, but it sounds like a serious injury, did he have no family?
  12. Just a flippant comment, have you got another reason why Germany would be left out of a list of European countries?
  13. Is that 5% or 95%, what are you basing your views on?
  14. https://www.visualcapitalist.com/ranked-the-best-and-worst-pension-plans-by-country/ Germany are below the UK

  16. Probably fake news put out by a Tory suporter.
  17. 64 Tory and 17 Labour, according to The Standards a few weeks ago.
  18. What percentage of older people actually need to pay thousands for full time care, it was always a very small percentage?
  19. Also, almost three-quarters of people aged 65 years and over in England own their home outright.
  20. Some of the UK's biggest banks are raising mortgage rates as expectations of when the Bank of England will cut interest rates are pushed back. They are speculating that interest rates will come down before the interest rates in the USA, so money will flow towards the USA for those higher rates. Sunak needs lower interest rates before a general election and the BoE have promised that, so no going back.
  21. Plus all the help with energy costs, which ordinary workers didnt get. Interestingly, if you look at the FTSE-250 which is mostly UK companies, those shares are lower now than they were 5 years ago. So it just goes to show, a story can be interpreted either way.
  22. For pensioners, they got an inflation pay rise, they are the wealthy ones. So all the investment returns are over inflation.
  23. But the sceptics could call that UK weather, not the global climate temperature. The UK could easily become colder in a warmer world. Global temperatures are certainly increasing at a worrying rate.
  24. Might be a rubbish parent? I have a relative that is a teacher, she doesnt seem very good at teaching her own children, she now works in a school office earning a poor wage.
  25. I have an interest in economics and climate change; I drive a minibus professionally; an expert would have studied those topics in depth. My Son is hopefully going to get a first in psycology, but being 23 he has very little real experience in the subject, but he knows 10x more about the science, compared to the man on the street.
