Lots of improvement to all season tyres in last few years, as well as more availability in sizes. Mainly premium and mid range brands doing all season options, Michelin, Nokian, Goodyear, Maxxis, Vrdestein, Apollo etc All season tyre will always be a compromise compared to a summer and a winter set and don’t last as long as they have to work in a huge range of temperatures.

If anyone wants any free tyre advice from professionals give Hometyre a call. 0114 345 3465 All season tyres, summer and winters, all sizes competitive prices and fitting at your home or work. for the record the Cross Climates are very good, as its early days with these tyres there are only a limited amount of sizes available. You'll have to give the guys a call to check availability of the Cross Climates for the 3 series

Pretty rare, run flats wear out on the shoulders due to the stiffness of the sidewall. Many people choose to replace run flats with non-run flats after some time but should change all 4 and not mix and match. Then carry a spare or alternative get you home device.

Part worn tyres are dangerous, Check the date on the tyre my blog shows you how http://www.hometyre.co.uk/mobile-tyre-fitting/mobile-tyre-fitting-sheffield/blog/check-your-tyres-date-it-might-be-out-of-date/ Also a part worn is often more than half the price of a new budget tyre but has less than half the tread, so it's a false economy. Saw someone the other day, informed her the tyre was 5 years old and had 3 mm of tread, she said she'd bought it last week for £25 a new one would have been £40 with 7-8mm. Part worns can have damage, poor repairs, more than 2 repairs, I wouldn't want a scrap tyre on my car, if it's been thrown away or in a crash it shouldn't be on the road!

Hi a rear blow out would actually be more difficult to control, on the front you get far more feedback from what's happening. this is why you should have your newest tyres on the rear of your vehicle regardless of drive, and for FWD vehicles the rear tyres don't get anywhere near as much heat in them so can be unstable when cornering. Think winter tyres, what's the point of putting winter tyres just on the drive wheels! If every time you steer you loose the rear or can't turn at all! ---------- Post added 13-07-2015 at 11:55 ---------- As it's been said before YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Better performance, wether that's more grip, economy or less noise. The EU labels give a decent indication of what the tyre is classed to do. I also find when fitting tyres branded tyres are balanced better, this means it's more uniform. A budget tyre might not be as refined and as a result needs more weight adding to balance it correctly.

Hi I Know it's been a while since this topic was posted, however, I'm Sam, I run Hometyre Sheffield, I'm an expert in the tyre industry and have lots of experience in dealing with twin axle vehicles. As someone has said the use of extended valves should be being used and an extended, double ended nozzle will get access to the valves You can see the inner tyres well enough to do an inspection from under the vehicle. If you, or anyone, would like a free tyre inspection I'm happy to swing by when I'm in the area to give a professional opinion, I offer a fully mobile service so I'm always buzzing around. ---------- Post added 08-07-2015 at 18:22 ---------- Oh, and I sell TPMS, tyre pressure monitoring systems!
