  3. I need a reliable builder or brick layer who is available to carry out some work straight away! It is a retaining wall that measures 6ft by 12ft. The existing wall is stone and I need it replacing with a breeze block wall with a foundation. Any recommendations much appreciated I have been trying to support local tradesmen but so far not had any luck! Sheffield S35 area thank you
  4. Can anybody recommend a good, trustworthy roofer for me in Ecclesfield area? I need to arrange a roof survey asap thanks
  5. Thanks for all your comments.............good and bad I have been continually comparing with other properties and in the end it all comes down to the fact that our house is a fairly new house but the rooms are a lot bigger than new builds in the area, bigger garden etc Location - quiet cul-de-sac private corner plot Recently fully re-furbed, decorated, flooring, windows, doors and garden So, its really down to personal preferance......buy a house that is priced as ours is or buy a house that needs another 10 to 20k spending on it to modernise........
  6. thanks for all your feedback. got another couple of open viewings arranged so we'll see how it goes in the next couple of weeks. Just need to get the initial viewings in
  7. Yes, I think I'll request another open day, all I'm doing at the minute is hoovering, dusting, mopping etc.....lol thanks x ---------- Post added 11-03-2015 at 12:51 ---------- Hi, I'm afraid we are tied in for 20 wks in a sole selling agreement
  8. yep, done this. It's getting the hits on rightmove, people are ringing to enquire but not actually wanting to view.....
  9. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-48280798.html? Thanks guys, yes this is ours. If people actually come and have a look they will see that it is:- Compared to new builds - The estate/cul-de-sac is a lot smaller and more private. The houses are not as close together and have more space to park Ours is a corner plot - private enclosed large rear garden and patio area. Compare to the 4 bed - This will be a matter of personal preferance due to the position Private corner plot with recently renewed fence installed. Larger rooms (although 3 bedrooms) Recent fully fitted modern new family bathroom Recent fully fitted wardrobes in master bedroom
  10. We are selling our lovely home. It has been on the market for 5 weeks and we have had no viewings at all ! We arranged an open viewing last Saturday..................not a sausage ! I am chasing up the estate agent every other day ...........still nothing ! We have now reduced the price from 210K to 199,500K, theory is that it will be picked up in the search criteria up to 200K..............still nothing ! It is a lovely, modern, spacious family home in a good location. Private corner plot on a quiet cul-de-sac - couldn't wish for better neighbours. The feedback we are getting is that it is due to the S5 postcode ? I am now loosing the will to live - comments and advice please!!!

  16. I would just like to say thank you for all your comments. I visited the house yesterday and talked to the owner. They were shocked at the state of my leg and appreciated that they had to make their garden secure so it didn't happen again. I mentioned that I would hate to think of it happening again but next time it being a child or a person that would decide to take it further ie police or RSPCA. They had not owned a female dog before so were quite surprised at the extent of the behaviour if they come into season and how the dog's personality can change. They are going to get the dog spayed. I met the dog and she is only a year old and was very fussy towards me. A very strong and solid dog and quiet large already so will obviously need strict obedience training and socialising. Thanks again for all your comments x
  17. Hi Geared, yes, I actually did, mention about getting her spayed. I'm afraid I do have strong views about people who buy dogs with a view to breeding them as there are so many dogs that need re-homing already! ---------- Post added 05-12-2013 at 10:32 ---------- Hi Lotti. Thank you for your advice, I think that is what I am going to do later today. I dont want to cause trouble and get police involved but I also would not like to think that it happens to somebody else and I havent done anything at all. ps. I have a lovely bruise on my leg from the bite, about the size of a saucer!!
  18. thanks for all the advice and views. need to say though that the apology actually came AFTER I had managed to get the dog away from my dog and endured a nasty "nip" to the back of my leg and also pulled shoulder due to both dogs being large!! Also think about all the dogs that are being stolen from gardens lately. I am actually more concerned about the dog if it gets out again!
  19. Having a lovely calm morning walk with my dog this morning, she was walking nicely on lead. Walked past a house that had let a dog out into the garden. Dog barks at us (understandably, as they do) We carry on walking past. Next minute.........the dog had either jumped over or through the hedge and ran at me and my dog. This led to a "quarrel" and a lot of growling between the two. I tried to pull away but the dog followed. When I tried to push the dog away from mine he nipped the back of my leg. The owner eventually appeared after hearing the comotion and apologised. I had a rant and said he shouldnt be leaving the dog outside anyway if it is not secure.........then he tells me she is only young and is in SEASON for gods sake!!! WHAT SHOULD I DO? report to RSPCA - the dog could have got run over or been pinched. report to POLICE - but then it could lead to a visit to their house by police. leave it - hoping that they will either secure the garden or not leave the dog to roam. I am a dog lover so have nothing against this dog - its the owners who need to be more responsible!!! Opinions and advice please !! ps. my dog is fine, she was a little shaken by it all.
