  1. Hi Dave, message me your number - happy to discuss options on Fundraising Targets re: TransPennine Challenge - can't seem to send messages.. mark.speirs@thp.org 07595222354
  2. The Hunger Project are recruiting volunteers to take on the Trans Pennine Challenge in June. It starts in Didsbury, South Manchester and heads via Penistone and down to Sheffield. If you fancy getting in touch or spreading the word - we would really appreciate it. Learn more via thehungerproject dot org dot uk or email mark.speirs@thp.org 100k nonstop or 50k to Penistone - walk it. run it. jog it
  3. I would definitely recommend the new walkit dot com site - brilliant and loads of new routes being added for the Sheffield area. For long distance walkers watch out for the inaugural Trans Pennine Challenge from Didsbury via Penistone to Sheffield. In aid of a great charity The Hunger Project it is a massive 100k or 50k non-stop on the 22nd/23rd June - about 1000-2000 walkers and runners will be descending at the start in Manchester. Find out more via - TheHungerProject dot org dot uk
  4. Hi, Quick question do you guys charge for the walks? Mark Challenge Manager - The Hunger Project Trans Pennine Challenge - 100km Walk, June 2013 thehungerproject dot org dot uk
  5. Sounds fantastic and great training for anyone considering or already signedup for the inaugural Trans Pennine 50k/100k Challenge in June. (If you fancy walking or running 2.5 marathons back to back for the sustainable end of hunger - this is a brand new challenge you can't miss out on being part of). Learn more about the challenge at thehungerproject dot org dot uk
  6. Get fit without the expense of the gym! Just sharing some info about a great new event crossing The Pennines to raise money for a great charity thehungerproject dot org dot uk (they train millions of people to end their own hunger themselves by investing in agriculture, water, education, health training - they even train communities to build their own schools). The Trans Pennine Challenge is open to everyone (You don't need to be a seasoned walker or runner) and starts on the 22nd June and you can walk or run the route from Manchester to Sheffield across the Pennines. Check out the site (thehungerproject dot org dot uk) to learn more and read the entry faqs. http://www.thehungerproject.co.uk/getinvolved/trans-pennine-challenge-50km-100km-manchester-sheffield/ I am thinking of taking on the 50km distance as a walker (finishes in Penistone) but you can walk 100km or if you're mad you can run the 2.5 marathon distance as an Ultra Marathon from the start at Didsbury, South Manchester up and over The Pennines and finish at the Don Valley stadium in Sheffield. They are expecting more than a 1000 walkers and runners... it is the perfect challenge to get your 2013 fitness regime underway and raise loads of money to end hunger sustainably. You will need to get out and train! Walkers will need to pound the streets up to half distance by June and of course you will be raising money for a fantastic cause. Nervous? need a little reassurance - I did a 100k walk last year and only started training in January with absolutely no experience. Just email your contact details or queries and I'll happily get in touch. mark.speirs@thp.org
