  1. New prog covers project based in West/South Yorkshire, you must have a genuine love/appreciation for Marillion/Radiohead/Floyd/Genesis/Yes/Rush and the genre in general and able to commit to practice 2-3 times month. Our current drummer is helping us rehearse but has commitments with another band and will leave on us finding a committed replacement. We're all experienced and are serious about this project, a setlist is starting to take shape and we hope to be gigging in a few months. Want help us make this a reality?

  9. There is a planning application to turn the empty building next door to the Dove and Rainbow into student flats and the pub are worried that if this goes ahead it will impact on their ability to put on live bands in the future. It is a bit of a pain to make an objection on the planning website http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/planning - you have to register and then navigate through a poorly designed site. But it's worth it to keep live music at the Dove . The relevant postcode is S1 2EL and the deadline is 21/2 (Thursday). I've objected to the plans. Why don't you? Here's the link: http://publicaccess.sheffield.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=MHE9Y3NYFY000
