  1. He may suffer the mental / emotional scars for life. She is as lucky as he is that he survived. She wasnt thinking about her child when she stuck a knife into him. She risked a life sentence.
  2. What are peoples thoughts on this? http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/gemma-taylor-sentenced-to-15-months-1238796 Should the needs of a child take priority over justice / punishment? I would suggest a woman like her will probably be bringing up the next generation of criminal. Jail her and take the child into care.
  3. And if there is something wrong you save £800 ish! From what you've told us something clearly is wrong. You dont really have any other option other than pay an electrician to come out and look..prob £80!
  4. Put all the facts and figures in an email to the customer services dept. If you dont get a satisfatory response there is an ombudsman you can get involved. Personally I wouldnt pay the bill as you'll probably find that N Powers takes less interest in your problem once they have they have been paid. You could offer to pay a sum in line with your previous usage until the matter is sirted.
  5. Sounds like someone else is wired up to your meter too. This happened in our office after some work was done to the adjacent office. Took ages to pursuade the elec company to come and see why our bills had doubled overnight.
  6. £800 in 3 months in a 1 bedroom flat certainly seems very excessive. Mine was about that for a year (no gas either).
  7. Anyway this is devolving into a captial punishment or not debate, which wasn't my intention. I (and others) observed that shooting someone (that could potentially be telling the truth) or even if they aren't, is more likely to damage the image of Indonesia as a tourist destination than a tourist actually smuggling in a few kgs of cocaine. Especially when there is a potential risk, no matter how small that anybody visting could find themselves dragged into such a mess.. It hasnt harmed the USA. One could find oneself dragged into a homicide too which could get you a death sentence there.
  8. This is turning into a major embarrassment and ongoing huge headache for SCC. Maybe English Heritage could contribute as they think its such an important building!
  9. Inevitably there is the odd nice area. On the whole though, most of Sheffield's grotty areas are grouped together, as are the better areas. In Leeds they are both all over the place giving a general grim feel throughout. Anyhow..it matters not
  10. You should have been around in the war years. Now THAT was scary. I'd take a few happy slaps over an air raid anytime!
  11. These people risked the lives of everybody on board the aircraft. Their 'friend' could have packed a bomb in their luggage. ---------- Post added 24-01-2013 at 11:05 ---------- No and nor would I enjoy 50 years in some Indonesian hell hole prison. But it would be fairly easy for me to cast reasonable doubt on me being a genuine drug smuggler. The woman in question couldnt. probably mainly because she associated with known players in the drugs underworld.
  12. BMW drivers. Overconfident because the way the car performs makes them feel like a better driver. And a certain type of person tends to want to own one.
  13. Has anybody partaken in Khat? Is it worth a dabble?
