  1. I agree with pete jim - the shop on abbeydale rd mainly deals in office furniture, can get excellent bargins here and solid, old furniture not self assembly.
  2. can the Peace Gardens be classed as a park? That is not listed
  3. As an independant hospital group they should be registered with The Healthcare Commission, subject to National Care Standards and be inspected regularly. Go to Healthcare COmmission Website and have a look around, you should be able to find inspection reports for specific hospitals
  4. As Well as colleges there is also WEA who will have classess in various subjects all over sheffield. Type WEA into search engine and have a rumage on their web site
  5. rather than try hotels direct - have a look at late rooms.com, I find it to be a lot cheaper than booking with the hotels themselves.
  6. Ellie - whilst you think your landlord would be okay with this, the Cats Shelter would insist on seeing you tennacy agreeement to see permission to have a cat in writing.
  7. Medusa works for the Sheffield Cats Shelter - as do I. If you are out of the house for long hours and kitten would be on his/her own, then the shelter would not let you take a solo kitten. There are always plenty of adult cats, adult does not necessarily mean "Old" and neither does these mean that the adult cats are nervous or problematic -some are, but the rescue tends to have worked this out before they put the cats out for adoption. Plenty of the adult cats are just youngsters - 1 or two years old, and there are plenty of affectionate cats coming through the rescue. Sometimes people need to make 2 or 3 visits to find a kitty that is just right for them but it is well worth a visit.
  8. I know the chap you mean, I went to his house to look at kitties several years ago, he was on wheeldrake road
  9. also wanted to add that Meers are experienced in special diets, I had a cat on KD and they were fine with her.
  10. I have used Meers cattery at Meersbrook several times and rate it quite highly. Decent sized pens with heated beds, all possible diets catered for, they give cats attention/cuddles/grooming. Costs about £6 per cat per pen (cheaper if you have two cats that can share the same pen) Pop Meers Cattery into google for more details/contact number
  11. Go to Local Studies Libary (1st FLoor Central Library Surrey Street) ask for phone directory for 1977, look up Jewlers on Chapel Walk at the time.
  12. I have been today, was very impressed. Was wuite pleased to find the lion as I remember him from when I was a child. The polar bear is the one that was there from the late 80`s, not the one that was there in the late 60`s - I think that one disintegrated. The museum, is lovely, has a light airy feel to it, nicely laid out displays and lots of touchy feely things for kids to do. well worth a visit
  13. Have you read "Eats, Shoots and Leaves" by Lynne Truss, dedicated to this very topic of apostrophe abuse. Brilliant, brilliant book.
  14. Thank you all, have now got it back to normal, great sigh of relief all round. Thanks for the link sugarcube, I need to give that some serious consideration
  15. Can anyone help? Cat has been playing around on the keyboard, I dont know how she has done it, but she has caused my screen image to move towards the right. Thus I have a large area of Blank screen to the left hand side of my monitor, and I can no longer see the clock at the bottom right hand side of the screen nor the scroll bars. Anyone any ideas on how I can put this right?
