  1. Just a question, why are sellers allowed to withhold feedback until they have received it FIRST, If the payment went through and you paid promptly there is no reason for not leaving good feedback as soon as the payment has gone through. I've stopped leaving feedback now if this occurs as I'm fed up with it. In fact e/bay should automatically award it.
  2. Am I mistaken about it being a "Call back" service coming in? No! and the time I quoted was based I my personal time, which happens to be in line with independent assessments. Misinformed, I think not.
  3. Grow up!! I gave up after 10/12 minutes because I was out in the street, the 6 kids could see me on my mobile, and it was ******* down with rain. now drop the subject (Mr policeman)
  4. Not at all, but i've phoned 101 on occasion over the years, the last time about 12 month ago Waited 10/12 minutes then gave up, like a lot of people who try to report a crime or anti social behaviour.
  5. I did have a job in a joinery shop which doubled as a funeral directors, and made many a coffin, some of oak, but most for cremation and being chipboard. notice they never use the handles on the coffin at a cremation , they won't take the weight.
  6. For a cremation they are generally made of veneered chipboard, and the nice shiny handles are plastic.
  7. RESPECT i understand and admire, but this is what the funeral directors rely on. for me, use a wheelbarrow and save a grand, i would like respect while I'm alive, not when I'm dead. it's too late then, and to be honest I'll be laughing my head off seeing my body trundled to the crematorium in a barrow.
  8. As I understand it, the new system will take your number and they then phone you back, when ? I don't know, but this does seem a bit of a cop out to me - cutting waiting times by taking your number and phoning you back.
  9. I have the form here, but have yet to send it back (I've had it over a year, a bit like tempting fate lol) Remember, now the law has changed you will HAVE TO OPT out of "Organ transplant" to prevent your organs being used if you wanted to use the service.
  10. You can of course donate your body to science, where, after a number of years you will be buried free of charge. The problem with this is YOU (the body) must be whole, so you can't donate as much as a eye lash to anyone on the transplant list or they will not except you, and the problem with that is it means fewer organs available for transplant? I believe if you allow your organs to be used in a transplant the government should at least offer you the benefit of a free basic funeral, most will not use it, but others who have not signed up for organ transplant may change their minds, there by increasing the number of organs available ........... On the black market in the US one Kidney is going for $160,000 - just a bit more than the cost of a basic funeral don't you think?
  11. I was wondering what to do with the Blue box the council left me with due to the "Bin changing exercise" now I know - https://wildlifegardenproject.com/portfolio/how-to-help-hedgehogs-in-your-garden/ buying some cat food next.

  13. I think it's better if someone is with you, an advisor or friend.
  14. Be prepared, with what you need to tell them about your disability, No they will not want to look around your house, no, there is no examination, 30/40 minutes. Don't go out of your way, no tea and biscuits, your disabled, got it?
  15. Um, These are, I think carbon blades screwed to a S/Steel body, not sure i'd want to risk it, but I've heard something like it before.
  16. I was thinking the same, these are 60 years old and a quid for each year wouldn't cover the cost of replacement. ---------- Post added 13-10-2018 at 13:21 ---------- This sounds good, haven't been there for a while, might give him a go.
  17. Slightly off topic, I have a pair of Wilkinson Senior Pinking Scissors that need a bit of sharpening, is there anywhere i can take the blades or scissors to, to get this done? thanks.
  18. I have spent hours looking things up for other people on here, I like doing it, but with pension credit for myself I saw the £163.00 rule and never went any further, who would? I'm just worried if it effects anything else. it's a means tested benefit and PIP doesn't count, so it can't effect much - can it? Is it to good to be true? ---------- Post added 15-10-2018 at 09:56 ---------- THE LOW DOWN!!!!! The Gov. says a single (can only talk about single) FIT person needs £163 as a minimum pension to live on. However if your disabled that amount goes up to £227.30 per week. This gives most an extra £63.00 a week. Savings under £10,000 are not counted in their calculations. and neither is PIP I've made my claim today and back dated it the 3 months your allowed, I can't foresee any problems, the 3 months bank statements they asked for weren't needed. Married couples should do rather better than me, so check it out, your entitled to it.
  19. I've been messing about on the web (as usual) looking at benefits etc. Came across "Pension Credit" can you claim? site, I'd looked at this before and dismissed it as not applying to me as I get a pension which is MORE than the amount they state on the web site, which is £163.00 per week, however I did a check using their calculator and was surprised when it said I could get an extra £62.77 per week. WOW! Yea I thought, heard that before. So I used another site and that came up with the same result - Weird - who knows better than the gov's own web site, so that's where i went next, and that said the same. So I phoned the free phone number and asked if i qualify (button 2). I have now got a claim ongoing. Can you claim? Calculator - https://www.gov.uk/pension-credit Pip payments do NOT count Savings under £10,000 IGNORED, anything over reduces the amount you get. Ignore the max income of £163.00 single and the £248.00 married it's different if your disabled. which they don't tell you about (which is why nearly 1 million people don't claim it. You need 3 months of Bank Statements, though they didn't say if I have to send them in, they implied I didn't, but because I didn't have them they marked my application ( IDOC) until I get them, otherwise I think I could have done it all today. If you do put in a claim, they ask when you would like it to start from - It can be backdated 3 months so ask for it. WHAT ANNOYS ME IS i COULD HAVE HAD THIS YEARS AGO. (so much for a quick note on the subject)
  20. Is it in FREE WHEEL mode? if so, take it out. let me know if it was this please. it helps others.
  21. You/This is wrong, If a claim is awarded after a mandatory reconsideration it is back dated to when the claim was first registered. It's hard to find Gov. papers on this ( though I have seen/read them in the past) but this piece from https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5037700 may be of help. Hey guys . quick question have just found out that my pip claim has not been successful . I am asking for a MR . I have just been informed though that if my MR is accepted then I won't get the backpay to the original phone call ( 12 months) and will only get it backdatedb to when the original decision was made ??? . is this correct and if so how could they possibly justify this. Thanks in advance . Originally posted by thomas the tank ” Thomas, not sure who advised you of that, but it's wrong. I started my claim for PIP on November 12th, and had a decision in July. I applied for an MR and was granted enhanced mobility which wasn't on the original decision. In my letter from DWP it clearly states that they will back pay to the time you first applied on the telephone. If you already had some monies from the decision, such as awarded standard rate and the MR result stated you should have been in the enhanced rate. In that case you would get the monetary difference between the two dating back to the original claim. Hope that makes sense. Good luck I hope this helps - phil ........MR = mandatory reconsideration

  24. A sheltered housing complex was built in Gloucester specifically for the Muslim community called "Apna Ghar " it stood unused for months without residents until they opened it up to all, it then very quickly filled up (my mother being one), but as far as I know not one Muslim ever lived there. Taking care of your own seems to be instilled in the Muslim psyche, and fair play to that
