  3. Quite incredible. I will be closing this thread. Thank you to the people who were genuinely interested, I hope to see you in October. To the rest who have mainly criticized, thank you for your comments but you are part of a group of people who, no matter what, cannot be convinced about anything.
  4. This event will be excellent and will be an insight in to spaceflight through the early days. To those who question the facts about Spaceflight, this event is not for you. Thanks
  5. The idea is that this is the start of a series of lectures, so if people can support this one, who knows who we can get for the next one. Should point out, Ed Gibson was Capcom during the EVA of Apollo 12. Making him one of only 12 men to speak to people on the Moon. He has a great story and is a genuinely nice guy. Hope people will support it Here is the flyer again http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a556/nkmcenaney/EdGibsonposjpeg_zps87f306fc.jpg
  6. That is a very worthy cause and one that should be supported by everyone that can do so. My event is clearly and obviously not attempting to take money away from any important cause. I hope that they raise the money.

  8. Monday March 11th - Showroom Cafe Bar - 7.30pm Something Astronomical returns with another great event! The Galaxy Zoo and Zooniverse projects are YOUR chance to contribute to the world of astronomy, using real science data to help classify galaxies, explore the Moon and find distant Planets. Our very special guest Astronomer Steven Bamford is a key member of the Galaxy Zoo team and will explain how citizen science has developed and look in to the discoveries that have been made by people like you and me. Plus there will be displays, give-aways and prizes to be won! PLUS there will be info on our next event, which will have an Astronaut attending. 9. That depends on the funding being successful, but its going well over 2600 pledged
  10. Well, because its an interesting and extremely rare opportunity. Thanks
  11. He will be doing a lecture and meet and greet. A once in lifetime opportunity, in a few years this may not be possible. All the best Nigel
  12. I am trying to raise money to bring one of the 24 Men who went to the Moon to Sheffield. He will be doing a lecture and meet and greet. It would be at Sheffield Hallam University hopefully in August 2013. The fee is high but it is achievable with some luck. Any questions feel free to get in touch via Kickstarter http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1408235485/bring-apollo-astronaut-ken-mattingly-to-the-uk All my best Nigel
  13. Any Nikon is extremely reliable so I'd say that
