  1. I have been following the OWLS for 55years and notice a slight change in the balance between Owls/Blades. Three of my mates are Blades and I do notice a bit of an edge with them now that Weds are potentially "kicking on" and Blades are potentially staying in the pub league another year. It seems to me the OP has some of this edge. I genuinely hope the Blades go up, I then hope we take six points off them next season. All the best of luck to the Blades, I think they need it
  2. Hi, the output from the IO2 Express is a left and right output with 1/4" jack plugs. It is only a line output so would be ok for powered speakers or to an amplifier. I have one put was very disappointed as it had massive latency, and that was before it packed up working after 15 months.
  3. Hi Green_man, I don't get involved in motorist v cyclist threads. I am of an age that means I have more experience of both than most on here and was commuting up to two years ago through Sheffield city centre. I am still a cyclist, motorist and motorcyclist. I don't take any side, but one aspect of these "discussions" is important to me. As a motorcyclist with an elevation position and the option to filter I see so many drivers on the phone or texting it is frightening. A van driver coming down the outside lane of the dual carriageway from Foxhill was drifting into the inside lane into me as he was busy texting. My point is only this, errors/bad riding/etc, by cyclists mainly causes irritation for motorists. Errors/bad/driving/etc, by motorists can and does cause death and serious injury.
  4. Hi, buy yourself a BOSS BR80, Boss COSM effects, digital recorder, drum machine. But best of all it is a great audio interface. £150 but def worth it.
  5. Hi if you just try the Saxaphone for a few days you will almost certainly decide not to bother. It takes a while to get to grips with the mechanics of the reeds so you need to try it for at least a month, maybe more.
  6. Hi lone soldier, I have two acoustics and two electrics and enjoy playing all of them. If the electric is easier to learn on use that. The pain in the hand is just your muscles building up, that will go away with practice. When your hand starts to hurt switch to learning the notes on the fretboard. Mick
  7. RIP Johnny Fantham, as a 10/11 year old he was one of my heroes from that Wednesday side. Met him when I was older through business and he was a really nice guy. The thing that sticks in my mind about Johnny and his generation of footballers is that when they were tackled and hurt, they would never ever show it. Not like today.
  8. Hi Eater Sundae, the major climbs are Cols but the smaller climbs are Cotes. The stunning thing is the stage is deemed to be a "flat" stage.
  9. I was 61 when I started playing the guitar, three years ago, and found it very difficult learning chords. The thing that kept me going was I learned the notes on the fret board are quite easy to play, don't sound as good, but it was a way forward to play songs I liked. I have recently started learning barr chords and this a real incentive as you suddenly know the patterns to play about 30 new chords. Playing them stills takes time but a drum machine is great fun to jam along with. Best of all, as has been said get someone to jam with, it will really drive your learning, and also have fun.
  10. I could just about cope with the red sock & beard brigade beating up on 4x4 and off road motor bikes if I had not spent ten years arguing with them on my mountain bike for daring to go out in the Peaks on legal trails such as the Salt Road - bridleway -off Stanage Edge ) and other legal trails. They have the "right to roam" so clear off the trails and leave the rest of the trails to normal humans.
  11. Already fed up of Brailsford robots are we. Well they have been about a bit BEFORE the TDF success. Wiggins was world champion years before 2012 as a "Brailsford robot". The great Britain team that dragged the best in the world all day to give Cav his world title were all "Brailsfords robots". His methods are the reason GB are best in the world of cycling. Get used to it because there are a few more to come. I have heard he could even make a troll into a world champion.
  12. Excuse me, it should be Cycle Lane Tax not road tax. (elevated cycle lane tax?)
  13. Hey up John, not for me to argue with someone who has ridden up most of the TDF climbs but I do think now with all that has gone off with Armstrong that the testing now will be pretty comprehensive.
  14. You will still be faster than you were on the Thundercat
  15. I was pleased to see Froome beat Contador up today, as Contador and his Spanish mates beat Froome up in the Vuelta last year when Froome was tired form the Tour.
  16. Hi either you have three .replies to your pm or none as my sent messages is empty.
  17. I think he turned pro too soon as a result of his performance in 1998.
  18. Hi Nick, was you in the car or on the Fazer. Must have been the car me thinks. Why should drivers behave any differently on Halifax road than anywhere else. If you go to France the drivers immediately move back into the inside lane after overtaking. In this country they stick out in the outside lane with a lane and sometimes two clear to their left.
  19. I am on 3 network and have got no problems ---------- Post added 23-04-2013 at 08:31 ---------- No problems in Crookes/Crosspool
