  1. Thanks for the post GM but that is the nature of dementia, it is short term memory that is the problem not long term. My father in law passed away due to dementia in 2008 and could remember stuff in great detail from 60years back, unfortunately he could not remember stuff from 2 minutes back.
  2. Hi Alco, from a fellow Crookes resident, only two options, taxed or sorn. Definitely sorn it.
  3. Is our gaffer better at motivating than buying seeing as he has reverted to last years team to get back to playing like premiership contenders.
  4. The French must be infinitely more intelligent than us because they do the merge in turn to a fine art. They are so good at it that both drivers will hold to let motorcycles through if they are filtering. ---------- Post added 24-11-2016 at 17:54 ---------- They should change the merge in turn signs as they are obviously wrong to "only use for pushing in".
  5. According to your logic Petminder we should turn 5 mile tailbacks on the motorway to 15 mile tailbacks.
  6. You are wasting your time Isabelle, there are too may of them who will happy ignore a lane to wait for mile single file. Junction 36 of the M1 is typical. Rush hour and one single file back to the MI roundabout, sometimes affecting the exit from the M1. Many analysis of which is faster but mainly irrelevant as the single lane everyone is going into is slower anyway. If it is no quicker either way then just use the extra lane, AS THE FRENCH, GERMANS, REST OF EUROPE DOES.
  7. Go on Tyreshopper.com and order, they then send them to National Tyres on Fitswilliam St. For mine Tyreshopper were the best price on the internet. As for as I know Tyreshopper are owned by National Tyres.
  8. Hi tzijlstra, ignore all the doom merchants. I started in 2003 at the age of 53, 150,000 miles later and I still love it. If you go banging round like an idiot bikes are dangerous, if you ride as if every car driver is an idiot you will be a lot safer. Only accident I have had is while stationary at traffic lights in Broomhill and a police car came through on red. My son has the MT07 and loves it, I have ridden it a couple of times and it is a great bike. Get it done man but always take care.
  9. "Because if they wasn't and one day someone wanted to cross and got killed questions would be asked." On that basis they should be installed at every junction in Sheffield
  10. The good news, (or bad) though is there are next to no pedestrians to cross there. I use that junction on a regular basis and have never seen a pedestrian use those crossings. If that is the case why spend all that money on the crossings.
  11. These issues are causing my daughter considerable stress at the moment. She is disabled with Fibromyalga and other issues and the last thing she wants or can cope with is stress. Not political but I wish we had some opposition in government that could tackle this government on such issues for people who need help not hinderance.
  12. I am convinced this is not required. I have lived overlooking the Rivelin Valley all my life and am in my sixties. On the day of the floods in 2007 had had to get back home to Crookes from Rotherham. Went round over the Strines to avoid the flooding. Came down the A57 about 6.0pm. From the top of the A57 the water was running 2/3 feet into the road. By Hollow Meadow it was 6/8 feet into the road. By The dams the road was a river a foot deep. A line of traffic was following a forty foot lorry that had a bow wave higher than the cab. My point is the issue on that day was not water at the bottom of Rivelin Valley but at the top. That is where the flood defences are required. A few hundred mini dams further up the valley would be less intrusive and be a lot cheaper. The mini dams could have an open sluice that allowed for normal flow, any extra would build up in the dams.
  13. Hi Web 1. I eventually set myself a studio up but went through a bit of expensive pain till I got there. Your eldest needs to know what they want. The Andertons bundle looks ok but how is he/she producing the music, keyboard, guitar etc. The Cubase DAW is a good start.
  14. They have an area in Crookes WMC that was used as a jam night on a Monday. You might want to give them a ring I think they may do it F.O.C. I am an intermediate guitarist with loads of gear, not looking to perform live, but would like to get involved. Mick
  15. Sorted the dropouts, thanks for the replies guys. In summary, BTHub (5 or Smart) have a "smart" facility that selects the band/channel it thinks is best. I use one PC for gaming that I want to be on 5ghz all the time, rest of laptops, phones on 2.4ghz. Received a new Smart Hub from BT but have set this up on separate names for 5ghz/2.4ghz. and turned smart facility off. Without doing this the hub would set my laptop to 5ghz if I turned it on first and then my main pc to 2.4ghz. New Smart hub is better range but is not that much different to the Hub 5.
  16. Hi Mimic, yeah done that but still getting drop outs on 5ghz even though just one PC on 5ghz and rest on 2.4ghz. Monitoring Wifi and even though connection is showing, throughput drops to zero. Seen load on the net re this issue. Getting at least 1 dropout per hour. PC on 5ghz is only 10ft away from hub5 vertically through a floor. Previous hub never suffered drop outs, but was slow.
  17. Have had a problem for a while with internet dropping out. Reported fault, changed channels, reset hub dozens of times, no difference. Identified that PC drops 5ghz band and drops onto 2.4ghz band. This processes drops the internet for 2-3 minutes. PC wont go back on 5ghz without rebooting.
  18. Does anyone get problems with the internet dropping out on a BT Hub 5, in particular when on 5ghz.
  19. I think someone is selling a stair lift and wants to know if any shops buy them.
  20. Hi Ema, Richtone are an online store but have a fair selection of second hand. And on Broadfield Rd.
  21. Hi Panchobar, just head into Derbyshire and get off the A roads. Roads around Monyash are good, head out to Leek from Monyash and down the Manifold Valley, all off A roads. All quite technical but not fast.
  22. If money isn't a problem then don't sell him and put him in the reserves. Sends a message to the rest of the team, and stops Newcastle getting the benefit of his services. Mind you, looking at their results he may not be enough.
  23. Our cat escaped on Bole Hill Road on its way to Rivelin Catteries It is a large furry black cat with a white bib and white paws. Its name is Kat but usually comes for cat biscuits. If you find the see or find the cat please ring Ian at Rivelin Catteries on, 07402300007/01142316226. ---------- Post added 22-07-2016 at 18:37 ---------- Happy ending Kat found his way home. ---------- Post added 23-07-2016 at 19:24 ---------- Kat found his way home, thankfully, not sure how. Thanks to Ian at Rivelin Catteries for his help.
  24. They will be showing that match as a Specsaver advert:confused:
