  1. What a tragic story about a lovely, brave man. Enjoy your medal Doug you have more than earned it. I love his typical Yorkshire humour "can you swim" answer "why have you no ships"? . My grandson will love that one, as he has been in the Royal Navy for the last couple of years.
  2. Agree wholeheartedly on Don Felder he is one of the best guitar players around. As you say he wont be back, financially he doesn't need to be. As an actual Eagles member he gets a big slice of their earnings even today, whereas Joe Walsh and Timothy B, are just employees. Randy Meisner is still pulling in a million bucks a year from the Eagles and he left in 1979. Vince Gill is no Don Felder but he is way better than Joe Walsh especially on picking playing, he is almost as fast and as good as Albert Lee. His voice is excellent, and will adapt well to Eagles stuff in my opinion. He does have 22 grammys. Not heard anything beyond a North American limited tour so far. Just thought I would add that Stuart Smith is staying on to do the Don Felder bit, Vince is basically replacing Glenn Frey. Stuart , of course is no Don Felder either but he is an excellent guitar player and was really good at all the Felder parts, when I saw them in 2010 in Toronto.
  3. Why would I ? My waist size has stayed consistent for 50 years . And if you believe that, here's another one ...er er oh well I am awful at lying lol
  4. Toronto has had a lady Mayor and her husband had nothing to do with it. She was voted in at the council elections from a list of nominations put forward by the would be mayors themselves. Surely the Mayors in Sheffield are voted in by the public, like all the other councillors. OK now I get it you guys are playing the (mavoress) part up right? I am sure the OP didn't mean it that way lol
  5. Did Middlesbrough ever revert back into Yorkshire? Also has any team ever been promoted to the Premier League with a negative goal difference like Huddersfield had? I noticed you have to go down the division to 14 th place to find a worse goal difference. This makes Huddesfield look really good on the season defensively and obviously got enough important goals to make the playoffs. Good luck to them upstairs..
  6. I totally agree with your last sentence, a new election should be called rather than having a divisive minority party dictate to the Government what they can or cannot do.
  7. I have never worn jewelry, never had a tattoo and refuse to wear anything with slogans or brand names showing, even on T shirts. I even cut off the little red Levi tag off of my jeans LOL
  8. " shaved ape" mmmm, I sense a little hairophobia here, be careful , hairy people/apes have feelings too.
  9. Sounds like a good mix with the Conservatives LOL Who's the leader Ian Paisley:D
  10. Are there actually cars over there with a wheel width small enough? to match the width of the tracks? When I lived down by the Lake here we always had to drive on roads with tram tracks and no way would my tyres match the rails.
  11. Not too up to speed on the newer political parties over in the UK. Who are the DUP and what is their platform /agenda ?
  12. The Negotiator with Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey. Really good thriller about a hostage negotiator who becomes a hostage taker. A bit far fetched but entertaining, nonetheless . 8/10
  13. You " live life to the full" yet you come on here with this load of crap:loopy:
  14. That is bloody hilarious:thumbsup:
  15. Ahhhhh memories of the times before the ball and chain went on. RIP Adam . Long live Batman.
  16. Dug up a 10 year old goodie last night Fracture, the always brilliant Anthony Hopkins playing with Ryan Gosling's mind in this excellent crime drama 9/10
  17. Pin ball machines were very popular in the 60's and 70's and most pubs had them. Was never that bothered about them, but a couple of mates got quite good on them. Our local used to have a prize of a gallon of beer for the best score of the week and one or the other of them buggers won more often than not.
  18. I agree on Joe Shaw, even as a Wednesday fan I loved to watch that guy play A few inches taller and he would have had a boatload of England caps.
  19. Maybe they should call it the Beano, as they really are a joke. All dictatorial religions, that preach about something they know nothing of, but try to terrify people into believing their ideology are based on fear. Trouble is they are a sick joke that needs to be extinguished and none of our politically correct leaders know how to use an extinguisher.
  20. I know it's not about penalising now, but it's what the OP wants . i.e. a penalty on 2nd properties or a law against them , which is even dafter. Personally I rent out of choice and no longer own property, I prefer to keep my money invested and pay someone else to have all the headaches of property ownership etc. Of course I am retired and I do realise it is different over there as there are few large rental companies. I have grown up kids living in Sheffield and am aware what is going on.
  21. My dear old mum always went on about what I said as a little boy the first time I went to Cleethopes. Apparently I said "what's that country over there mam"? Of course I have no memory of it
  22. What a silly thread, why on earth should people be penalised for owning more than one property, especially in a democratic society? It sounds like China's law that orders married couples to only have one kid. lol
  23. Nice to be located centre of the country eh? I always liked the idea that you were similar in distances from either coast, when I lived over there.
  24. Glad to hear it, hope you also know how to stop them, as well. That would really help.
